Good morning!
It was quite the week for the White Sox given no regular season baseball was played over the course of the last several days. First, Sunday evening the Sox drafted Billy Carlson in the MLB draft, followed by Shane Smith representing the team in the All-Star game on Tuesday.
That gives me an opportunity to provide you with two quizzes in one: a Sporcle asking you to identify previous first-round MLB draft picks dating to 1965; the other, every White Sox All-Star representative dating to 1960. That's 133 names for the All-Stars, while you'll have to guess 79 names for the draft picks. How many can you get? Good luck!
Quiz Parameters
- I've allotted 15 minutes for each quiz.
- For hints, I've provided the position and year of the player in question for All-Stars; the draft quiz provides only the year and the overall pick number.
Useless information to amaze, annoy, confuse, and/or confound your friends and family:
Some All-Star trivia:
- Pitcher has been the position most often represented by the White Sox over the years as it appears in 54 instances on this list.
- The position represented the fewest times: third base, which has had just 3 players appear since 1960.
