Tanner McDougal

Tanner McDougal is now winless in his last 60 appearances, and he keeps finding new ways to do it.

It was just last Sunday that I marveled at McDougal throwing seven scoreless innings, only to get saddled with a no-decision because the Dash didn't score until the ninth.

Starting for the Dash against Asheville on Friday, McDougal found himself in a golden position to snap the drought, as he entered the fifth inning with a 6-0 lead and a manageable pitch count of 63.

And yet he came up one out short of qualifying by issuing four of his six walks, including a bases-loaded walk that put him at 30 pitches for the fifth, and past 90 pitches overall, to end his evening.

Morris Austin picked up the win by recording the final out of the fifth, and then all three outs in the sixth before the rains came. He improved to 2-0.
