Good morning!
While Luis Robert, Jr. has struggled out of the gate to start 2025 (though not on Thursday!), his season statline does contain an outlier: stolen bases. Entering Friday's contests, the White Sox centerfielder not only leads the team in stolen bases by a healthy margin (10, Michael A. Taylor trails behind him with 3), but is tied in the majors with just Elly De La Cruz who also has 13.
In fact, by the time this publishes on Saturday morning it's entirely possible Robert will have qualified for this quiz: stolen bases --a minimum of 15 in a season dating back to 1970-- is what we're after today. That leaves 101 entries: how many can you get? Good luck!
Quiz Parameters
- I've allotted 15 minutes for completion attempts.
- For hints, I've provided the season, number of stolen bases, and position of the player.
Useless information to amaze, annoy, confuse, and/or confound your friends and family:
- The only player to lead the league in stolen bases from this list came in 2010, with 68.
- 5 times, however, a player from this list led the league in caught stealing (2011, 2010, 2006, 2005, 1990).
- The last MLB player to record 100 or more stolen bases in a season was Cardinal outfielder Vince Coleman in 1987, with 109. (He also finished with more than 100 in 1986 and 1985) A nation turns its lonely eyes towards Chandler Simpson of the Rays, perhaps?
