Good morning!
As noted on the Sox Machine podcast from a couple of weeks ago, former White Sox manager Jeff Torborg passed away on January 19 at the age of 83. There are a lot of folks around here who have very fond memories of Torborg's stint with the franchise, particularly the 1990 squad which finished 94-68.
That record would have been good enough to handily beat any team in the American League East (Boston finished on top, 88-74) but alas, the pennant-winning A's won 103 games. Still, 1990 was a far cry from their last-place finish in 1989, a near-reverse record of 69-92. So today's Sporcle asks you to remember the guys on that surprising 1990 team. In all, there are 37 names: how many can you get? Good luck!

- I’ve allotted 10 minutes for completion attempts.
- For hints, I’ve provided the position of the player (as noted by Baseball Reference) and the number of games that player appeared in.
Useless information to amaze, annoy, confuse, and/or confound your friends and family:
- The 1990 team had five regulars with an OPS+ over 100. Let's hope --and certainly not hold our collective breaths-- that the 2025 team could somehow accomplish that.
- Three players finished with more than 30 stolen bases.
- One position player pitched for this team: a 2-inning, one-run effort starting in the 8th inning in a blowout 12-3 loss to…Tony LaRussa’s Oakland Athletics.
