Did anybody see if Tim dropped his suspension appeal before the game? It would be really dumb not to drop a 1-game suspension appeal before a planned day off, unless you were certain you were in the right and it was going to be reduced to 0 games. Since Tim’s on video doing the act and admitted to doing the act, it’s not going to be reduced to 0 games, so I hope they killed two birds with one stone today.
Burger hit a foul ball square into the mask of the home plate umpire. It put him on the ground. He never lost consciousness, but it took him a while to get up, and they tested him and removed him. So, that took some time, and then the 1st base ump had to go in and change into his umpire gear.
Keuchel looks good today. They could certainly live with this version as their 5th starter. Their upcoming decisions related to Cueto and Lynn are going to be interesting.
Was not gonna watch because Keuchel is a meme but now I tune in and its the fifth inning and the Wrong Sox are scoreless? Things are truly awful in Boston.

NBC made a smart choice with Benetti. He’s making it real easy, teeing it up for the analysts.
Having Souza ready to pitch for a favorable potential match up was a HoF managing move.

Whew, despite the best efforts of today’s lineup, SP going in, and bullpen choices, they get the win. That feels like a stolen one that’s nice to take.

Baseball on over-the-air broadcast tv?!? No payments, or free-trials, or streaming.
I never heard of such a thing.
What did we do to deserve this?
SHOTHO
LaRussa’s Sunday lineups make Ventura’s Sunday lineups look like juggernauts
Garcia drew an S, probably as the start of SOX, with that last outfield route in the wind.
Yeah, let’s go ahead and remove the “Gavin Sheets bunting for a hit” strategy.
Given the loopiness in his swing, I think he eliminated the “Gavin Sheets swinging for a hit strategy” too.
Welcome to the Alex Verdugo show.
Stepped out for a bit… what was the delay about?

Yikes. Thx.

Keuchel should text the Undertaker gif to Hahn if he finishes this outing unscathed.
Josh Harrison is understandably mad about reaching base via HBP twice … I am not.
If Boston can’t hit Keuchel, better pack it in, turn off the lights. Game over. Trade everybody and everything.

We will one day look back on Benetti and Stone and Sox Machine and the Athletic as the Golden Age of Sox Fandom….
The day to realize that is today.
Also, you can add Len Kasper to the list of good things.
LaRussa sleeping in the dugout
Three balls with xBA ranging between .550 AND .650 and with two of them being above 106mph off the bat.
Three straight outs.
Apparently, MLB thought we all hated hits, home runs, and scoring. But, hey, more outs in play.
I mean, I didn’t like the ridicilous bouncy ball from a couple years back but this is ridiculous
is matt foster that guy? blowing a fastball by devers is no mean feat lol
Matt “future closer” Foster
He looks incredible right now.
riding mid-90s fastball, two (three??) viable secondaries, average command, that’s a Guy right there
Hmmm, they are warming up Ruiz to close the 9th. I would have thought Graveman (he didn’t pitch yesterday).
They had an off day Thursday too, so since Wednesday, Graveman has only pitched once, on Friday. I hope he’s ok.
Graveman threw six pitches on Friday.
Good point. This is odd.
Ruiz for the save…LaRussa playing with fire
TLR read your comment and said “hold my beer”
Ruiz and Souza to close the game…TLR 3 dimensional chess stuff
As much I want to see Liam break the consecutive games pitched record but the bottom of the Boston lineup shouldn’t be too much trouble.
The bottom? This team blows.
More than 3 dimensions if you ask me.

wow boston really sucks lol. early getaway day win with a raggedy lineup & pitching staff is a neat trick… six in a row don’t stop now!
