White Sox Wake Up Call with Dan Szymborski: Sept. 15, 2021

Last night: Tim Anderson and Lucas Giolito return. Ball In Air Offense was activated as Luis Robert and Gavin Sheets both homered.

Tonight: Reynaldo Lopez gets the start.

Down on the Farm: Jake Burger and Jameson Fisher homered while Kannapolis was the only winner.

Around MLB: St. Louis Cardinals are now the NL 5-seed leader, and the White Sox magic number shrinks to seven.

Special guest: Dan Szymborski of Fangraphs stops by to make the Hall-of-Fame case for Jose Abreu and answer your questions about the White Sox.

@Josh Nelson I was in Austin last week. I recommend Lazarus Brewing for drink and Juan in a Million for tacos.

I’m just catching up to this…why is this interview part of the White Sox Wake-Up Call? It’s not timely at all. I tend to think the podcasts drag on in general, but this seems especially excessive. I only have a limited amount of time to listen to podcasts in a week, and if you just throw more and more time on the podcasts, the only way to make it work is to listen and try to skip ahead to what matters. And I’ll be honest, if I have to try to parse through podcasts manually, that makes it much more likely that I just skip entire episodes or stop listening altogether.

I get that you want to talk about the things you think are interesting, but I’m begging you not to put out 3 hours of audio each week. I’m only willing to devote so much time to the White Sox.
