FREE AGENTS
No. 1) Jose Abreu 2 years/$27 million with a club option for $12 million. He's the heart and soul of this team, and I'm an old-fashioned guy who still believes that his influence on the other players + his bat more than makes up for his defense and lack of running skills.
No. 2) Yasmani Grandal 4 years/$82 million. McCann isn't the answer and Collins is not a catcher. This guy is great behind the plate and would give us a threat from the left side. Should be our top priority.
No. 3) Zach Wheeler 5 years/$95 million. We've got to get a starter, Cole is never happening. Jake O. would also work, but I like Wheeler a little better.
TRADES
Trade Luis Gonzalez, Blake Rutherford, Gavin Sheets and Reynaldo Lopez to LAD for Alex Verdugo. Trade the OFs before their value completely craps out, Sheets is going to be blocked by Vaughn soon and Lopez is talented, but inconsistent. Maybe the Dodgers will need a starter if they lose Kershaw and Ryu. Verdugo would be nice in RF and add another lefty bat.
