Hard to imagine this team has much to trade, so if they want to fill out this roster, they'll have to spend money. I didn't go very in-depth with the bullpen. Bring Colome back and have him start as closer, but doesn't necessarily mean he has to fill that role all season. Or that they can't find another option.

Free Agents
Abreu - 3 yrs, $45 million: He's going to be back. I'd prefer two years. They'll give him three.
Nova - 1 year, $12 million: He was exactly what he was supposed to be, and he'd be useful again in 2020. Sox have a lot of innings to fill with uncertainty around Rodon/Kopech workloads. Every winning team has SP depth. No excuse for not having some of our own on a reasonable deal
Anthony Rendon - 5 years, $175 million: The hope is that the $35M annual value will be enough to convince Rendon to come here and play 1B/3B/DH. It'd be a floating platoon situation between him, Moncada and Abreu, allowing Renteria to keep all three of them fresh. Yoan gets dinged up a lot. More time at DH might not be the worst thing for him.
Yasmani Grandal - 4 years, $64 million: Should have signed him last winter. Time to make up for the mistake. He gives you a lefty bat in your lineup, and gives you offense at a premium position.
Jake Odorizzi - 3 years, $51 million: Again, rotation depth. Reliable mid-to-back rotation starter. Suddenly this is a team with options for when starters get hurt that aren't Odrisamer Despaigne and Ross Detwiler.
Brad Miller - 1 year, $5 million: The new Yolmer, basically, but with a much better bat. Starts the season at 2B and moves into utility role once Madrigal is up. If Madrigal fails, you have a capable guy who can fill in.
Trades
Joc Pederson for whatever you have to give up for him: This was close to happening last winter. No reason not to explore it again, especially with Alex Verdugo deserving an opportunity in LA. Maybe Steele Walker and a pitching prospect the Dodgers can probably turn into a stud? The farm system/prospect value is my weak spot. Maybe Zack Collins is part of it now that Grandal and Rendon make him expendable.
