White Sox Minor Keys: July 9, 2026

Baseball America named Caleb Bonemer its midseason favorite for being named the White Sox Minor League Player of the Year, mostly because the rest of the field -- Sam Antonacci, Braden Montgomery and Jacob Gonzalez, namely --- was cleared out for him by promotions to the major league level.

That said, Bonemer is doing just fine in his own right, especially since he's flipped the power switch at Birmingham. On Thursday, he hit his fourth Double-A homer, and for a guy who emphasizes how central lifting and pulling is to his offensive identity, it's good to see that half of his homers have gone the other way.

• Edgar Quero, 1-for-4 with a walk.
• Ryan Galanie went 1-for-5 with three strikeouts.
• Jonathan Cannon with a successful home start: 5 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 1 HR, 63 of 92 pitches for strikes.
• Tanner McDougal: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K, 7 of 13 pitches for strikes.

• Caleb Bonemer went 2-for-4 with a homer and his first Double-A HBP.
• Anthony DePino snapped an 0-for-19 slump by going 2-for-4 with a triple and two strikeouts.

• Pierce George: 0.1 IP, 4 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 1 BB, 0 K, 1 HR, 11 of 21 pitches for strikes.

• Tim Elko began his rehab stint by going 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout.

• Yordani Soto was 1-for-4 with two strikeouts.
• Jose Mendoza, 0-for-4.
• Eduardo Herrera singled twice and struck out once.
• Alejandro Cruz singled, walked and struck out.
• Cesar Familia departed with an injury after plunking the only guy he faced.
