Drew Romo caught a fair amount of Noah Schultz in spring and at Triple-A, and has both a snappy answer and a longer answer about what stands out about the left-hander.

"His height," Romo said. "Everything stands out about him. HIs stuff is great. I feel like when I catch him I have so many options of stuff I could do. I could attack hitters up, down, in, out, back, forward. There are so many options with him and it’s fun catching him."

Miguel Vargas is hitting .295/.466/.591 over his last 12 games, and has one of the lowest chase rates in baseball.

"Coachable, receptive, willing to make micro-adjustments where needed, when needed," said hitting coach Derek Shomon. "He’s a good hitter. And this is a guy, who, historically, Miguel Vargas has not chased, he does not miss on the strike zone and he can do damage. It just takes a little bit of realignment here and there to get him in a spot where he can go out and do what he does best."

The White Sox provided updates on two injured prospects earlier on Friday. Tanner McDougal has a flexor strain in his right arm and will be shut down from throwing for a few weeks to see how he responds. Wikelman González has a lat strain. Both had been trending toward being ready for a call-up, and are now out indefinitely.
