2025-26 Offseason Plan Project

GreekSox23’s ‘Let’s look like a real MLB team’ offseason plan

PREAMBLE

They say things come in 3's, right? Well lets have that mentality for 100 loss seasons. Let build a team that gets us out of "Laughing Stock Of The League" territory.

COACHING STAFF

  • Hitting coach: Was going to say Ken Griffey Jr.
  • Pitching coach: Was going to say Dylan Axelrod

Offensive Coordinator: Donnie Ecker
First Base coach: Mitch Moreland

ARBITRATION-ELIGIBLE PLAYERS

  • Mike Tauchman: Tender
  • Steven Wilson: Tender
  • Derek Hill: Non-tender

Tauchman gives a professional left handed at-bat while adding veteran leadership. Wilson, well we need bullpen arms, right?

CLUB OPTIONS

  • Luis Robert Jr.: Exercise $20 million option.
  • Martín Perez: Buy out for $1.5 million

Way too much for Perez

FREE AGENTS

Rhys Hoskins (1 yr 10 Mil, 12 mil mutual option for 2027) POWER, POWER, POWER. They play in a small ballpark, use it to your advantage, put the ball over the damn wall. All the good teams do it.

Dustin May (1 year, 5 Mil) give him a chance to raise his stock again

Devin Williams (1 year 10.5 Mil) did I mention we need bullpen arms?

Harrison Bader (3 year 36 Mil) He's a threat on both sides and a perfect 1st or second hole hitter with a good glove

Lucas Giolito (3 year 45 Mil) Bring him home to anchor the young guys. Established starter that will give you good innings

Chris Paddack (1 year 4 mil with a 7 mil option for 2027) can pitch as a starter or out of the bullpen and can piggy back some of the young arms

Hoby Milner (1 year 4 mil) lefty with a funky deliver, White Sox Special

MILB DEALS: James McCann, Ryan Borucki, Rafael Montero, Chris Devenski, Triston Mackenzie, Hunter Renfroe, Alex Verdugo

TRADES

3 Team Trade alert!!
White Sox get: Triston Casas, Jhostynxon Garcia (BOS#3)
Red Sox get: Sandy Alcantra, Sean Burke, Griffin Conine
Marlins get: Lenyn Sosa, Mikey Romero (BOS #8), Brandon Clarke (Bos #5), Allan Castro (BOS#22), Hayden Mullens (BOS#18)

OK, Maybe a bit crazy here but hear me out. The Red Sox get 2 pitchers that they need and AN OF bat, Miami gets some power and a prospect haul and the White sox get their possible 1B of the future who needs a change of scenery and a big young bat for the Outfield.

SUMMARY

Well after kind of a crazy Off-season that we know won't happen. Addressing the pitching and the lack of power, here we go. Lets pray.
