First Pitch: White Sox at Twins

Target Field

(Jim Margalus / Sox Machine)

As noted elsewhere, Bryan Ramos and Fraser Ellard will be the first White Sox to occupy the two new spots in the expanded September roster, with Ellard opening today's game.

On Minnesota's side, they added outfielder DaShawn Kiersey Jr. and right-handed pitchers Noah Davis and Travis Adams, opening up the third roster spot by optioning Mick Abel to Triple-A. The White Sox roughed up Abel for six runs over three innings back on Aug. 23, and then the Padres rocked him for six runs in one inning of relief on Saturday. His total line in those two outings: 4 IP, 14 H, 12 R, 11 ER, 1 HR, 3 BB, 3 K.
