Ask for the White Sox spring training broadcast schedule on this morning's Sox Machine Podcast, and you shall receive.

The White Sox finally released their slate of Cactus League broadcasts, and at first glance, it's not because they were delaying bad news. The coverage actually appears to be pretty substantial, with seven spring training games aired on the Chicago Sports Network, and six more whitesox.com webcasts paired with the ESPN Chicago broadcasts from Len Kasper and Darrin Jackson. That's an increase in both categories from 2024, as the White Sox broadcast six games on NBC Sports Chicago with four webcasts last year.

John Schriffen and Steve Stone will in the booth for all CHSN games except the Spring Breakout game on March 16, which will feature CHSN reporters Brooke Fletcher and Connor McKnight on the call.

The hiring of McKnight from ESPN Chicago had been previously reported by the Chicago Sun-Times, and the press release expounded on the reporter roles:

Fletcher and McKnight begin their first seasons as part of the Sox television team. As a reporter, Fletcher will provide in-game reports from the sidelines as well as pre- and postgame coverage for all home games and select road games. In addition to her role on the Sox telecast, Fletcher currently serves as an on-air host on CHSN’s daily program, “The Chicago Lead” and co-hosts the new CHSN podcast, “Sidelined.” Prior to joining the network, she worked as a host for Stadium and sideline reporter for AppleTV+ on its Major League Baseball broadcasts. Fletcher is the daughter of former White Sox infielder Scott Fletcher.

McKnight, who entered the Chicago sports media scene in 2009, has spent the last four seasons as the White Sox pre and postgame host for ESPN Chicago. During the regular season, McKnight will provide sideline reports, focusing on analytics in his coverage and storylines from the minor leagues. In addition, he will continue to fill in as the play-by-play announcer for television and radio broadcasts.

(While the White Sox noted that Fletcher is the daughter of Scott Fletcher, it does not mention that she's also the sister-in-law of Gordon Beckham, who is married to her sister, Brittany. We'll see if Beckham has a role in CHSN broadcasts in 2025, because they haven't even made the hiring of Ozzie Guillén official yet, and he was in promotional videos for the network's launch.)

White Sox fans who subscribe to MLB.TV will be able to watch an additional six games via the opposing team's network. The schedule below accounts for all known broadcasts:

There's also the chance that other teams' webcasts aren't included in this chart, because the whitesox.com video feeds are not yet reflected on the schedule. First Pitch threads will be created for all games that are either viewable on Chicago-area networks or free webcasts, and we'll do a day-of-game check to make sure that all video sources are accounted for.
