Sporcle Saturday: One game, lots of ribbies

White Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi

Good morning!

While in the course of running a query for something else entirely, I noticed the box score of a game the White Sox played this season which I had forgotten about entirely. It's this game, which is funny considering it played a part in getting the team its first back-to-back wins on the season and one of just two sweeps of an opposing club all year. Then again, even in (41) victories the 2024 White Sox were mostly forgettable, so perhaps it's not all that surprising.

At any rate, in that game Andrew Benintendi went off and knocked in six RBI, something no White Sox player had done since the 2021 season. In fact, there have been just 59 games since 1970 where a White Sox batter has accomplished such a feat. And today's Sporcle will be testing your knowledge on them: how many can you name? Good luck!

Quiz Parameters

  • For hints, I've provided the date of the game and the position of the player in question.

Useless information to amaze, annoy, confuse, and/or confound your friends and family:

  • The White Sox are 54-5 when a player accomplishes this feat.
  • The only player to play center field and record 6 RBI came in 1974, a 3-5 effort in an 11-7 victory over the Twins.
  • The highest WPA on this list was .852 (4/25/2014); the lowest: -.004 (5/16/1993).
