Thanks to a pair of suspended games on Wednesday, there are eight box scores from the White Sox farm system to peruse. This counts as today’s intro, go nuts.

- Terrell Tatum walked once, struck out thrice and stole a base.
- José RodrÃguez went 0-for-4.
- So did Bryan Ramos, but all four were strikeouts.
- Yoelqui Céspedes went 0-for-3 with an HBP and a strikeout.
- Luis Mieses had two-thirds of Birmingham’s hits by going 2-for-3 with a double, and he also walked.
- Matthew Thompson: 5.1 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 4 K

- Jacob Burke went 2-for-4 with a double, walk and stolen base.
- Colson Montgomery went 2-for-5 with a double and two strikeouts.
- Wilfred Veras, 0-for-4 with a walk.
- DJ Gladney was 2-for-4 with a walk and a strikeout.

- Brooks Baldwin accounted for both runs with solo shots, finishing 2-for-3 with a walk.

Thompson’s season has been encouraging but since the start of June he’s been even better: 3.26 ERA, 10 K/9, 3.8 BB/9. Still needs to work on that BB rate.
The next few weeks will say a lot about what the next few years will bring. But if the Sox have any aspirations of competing in the next few years, Thompson, Mena, Cannon, and Burke are critical. A credible starter (or two) out of that group sure would be nice.
