Lineups:
There, Eloy. Now you can just jog slowly home.
Kinda fun watching Remillard leapfrog all those prospect-listers…. Kinda.
Keep it up Gio! Raise that trade value. Hahn may only get fleeced for a AA reliever, not a single A reliever.
not sure throwing 101 pitches through 5 increases his trade value that much.
Well, if that’s Gio’s last start in a Sox uniform, it was a pretty good one. Gonna miss him.
Ordinarily would be a good final start for Gio. But you can never be sure with Grifol. 101 pitches through 5, Grifol might have one or two more innings in mind for Lucas.
It should be his last start, although Hahn’s predisposition toward inactivity concerns me more by the day.
I have a feeling Hahn will stay pat alluding some sort of chance once thing start “clicking” our way.
I’m guessing he’ll cite market conditions and no one being willing to meet his eminently reasonable asking prices, kind of like last year when he was “just as frustrated as we were” that no meaningful moves were made.
Yes it was nice to enjoy a Sox performance, I’ll miss him too. Kelly with a kinda nice one too, I’ll miss him less.
Kelly’s velocity is fully there. Trade him before he gets hurt again.
Yeah, bon voyage. A 5.5 ERA in a Sox uniform, at 17M for 2 years. God knows how much time on the DL. Woof!
Gotta be one of Hahn’s worst FA signings, right? It was easy to first guess, injury concerns, ANOTHER reliever when they already signed like six, multi-year deal, and it worked out about like we all expected. Leury is the worst signing, but JK gotta be in the running for worst FA attempt.
As soon as they signed him I wondered aloud why they were giving that contract to a guy who ended the previous season with nerve damage in his arm. Lo and behold, he started the season on the DL. Who could have seen that coming?
When they signed Kelly and Harrison, I made the remark that I wished they had never reached a collective bargaining agreement and just stayed on strike.
I think Sox fans would have been better off.
He might be the poster child for Hahn’s habit of signing expensive relievers while ignoring the same glaring holes in the lineup for years on end.
Instead of a bat, Zavala should bring various items to the plate when he hits. One time, he could bring a portion of a rubber hose. The next, a prosthetic leg. It would be more entertaining and wouldn’t negatively impact the results.
In at least 120 PAs, nobody has a lower OBP than Zavala, and it’s not close. Zavala is at .208 (before today). The next lowest is Austin Hedges at .224. Old friend, A.J. Pollock, is third worst at .225.
Oh, and Oscar Colas is 9th worst at .238. There are 358 players that have at least 120 PAs.
Nice to see they’re competitive at something on this team.
I’m all for firing Grifol, but man would I feel sorry for whoever manages this half ass roster. I mean you might as well put a new manager on antidepressants.
We all know if Hahn comes back so does Grifol. And that is my fear.
I have no fear with this team. It’s hopeless already. It really can’t get worse than having no hope.
They can be plenty bad without those dudes, no worries.
This is fine…
What a pathetic team. I am laughing man. That’s all we have left

LOL!
Please someone trade for graveman, if not I’m all for dfa’ing him. He stinks and is guaranteed to blow the save every time he comes in, so tired of this team.
Not including today, he has an ERA+ of 146, an ERA of 3.00, and was eight for eleven in save attempts. You don’t DFA that kind of asset.
It wouldn’t matter if they DFA’d the whole roster at this point. But Graveman is one guy they could trade without having to DFA.
8-for-11 is good? I mean, it’s not terrible, but it’s hardly good.
It’s not outstanding, but given the full context of his performance, there is no way in hell you DFA him. There are enough reasons to criticize this team that we should be able to stick to reasonable ones.
Oh, no, I wouldn’t think you DFA him, but I don’t exactly think he’s a trade asset either.
I don’t think you get a huge return, but there should be a market, especially given how badly some of the contenders need relievers – Texas?
He’s definitely got some value, even if not a lot. But this team doesn’t, and needs to be sold.
Past two years he has saved 14 games and blown 9, he sucks as a closer. Sure, grant you he has a nice era, unfortunately it doesn’t come around closing when he blows the save almost 40% of the time.
I hope they trade him but I’ll not be disappointed if he goes, no matter how it’s done.
They will not and should not lose him for nothing. He wasn’t brought here to be a closer, and a team acquiring him likely wouldn’t use him that way either.
Ah, I sat down to watch the 9th and was not disappointed with how white sox the white sox white sox’d.
AH HA HA
What a sacrifice fly, Haha
RF is cursed
… but you get your choice of infielders!
The infielders contain potassium benzoate.
… the infielders are also cursed.
Next sox machine pennant idea…”I survived Rick Hahn’s RF hole” with a list of every RFer of the Hahn millennium.
The white sox are basically unintentional second city.
The odds of a team scoring in late innings when Sox bring in a new reliever are like 95 percent.
Colas read that ball to CF better than the sacrifice fly to RF.
Lol, just lose already, ya losers.
Oh boy
Will the twins extend the misery with their own bumbling? Stay tuned!
Good call
The AL Central is a buffet of bad.
Perez doesn’t seem to hit or defend well.
Well, sure, he sounds bad if you only list those two things.
He is the 3rd catcher!
Soon to be #2!!
So, Zavala and Perez at catcher next year, eh?
You’re a catcher short.
Yaz to first, Vaughn to catcher?
Gallo is even a fly ball bunter
Is Grandal the best defensive first baseman on this team?
Joking. I think…
You (kind of) joke, but in a limited sample, I’m not convinced he’s worse than Vaughn over there.
Jason is desperately trying to speak a Timmy HR into existence.
Why bunt there?
Because of an overwhelming belief Perez is going to drive the run home, I guess?
Even with the Manfred man, it takes several acts of God for these jerks to score.
Passed ball, 210 foot sac fly to end it?
Colas at least seems to have an arm
This excruciating game is about to end
oh boy…maybe not
Thank you Kapler. Thank you.
… you wish
I stand corrected
TIM THREW HOME
AH HA HA THEY STILL BLEW IT
The extra innings were like a microcosm of the AL Central, the Sox were incapable of winning it and Minny seemed to blow every chance but won it anyhow by default.
This was the perfect game to mark the official start of blowing this thing up.
On pace to end 65 – 97 in our contention window.
PARADES
These azzholez deserve to lose 100.
I agree, they need to wear a 100 with pride.
Just amazing. Like it was scripted.
Jim is just going to have to bullet point all of Grifol’s stupidity for length.
So it’s back home to find out who is the worst team in Chicago. Don’t worry, the Sox have this one.
