Not like anybody was going to drive in Robert from second with 2 outs anyways.

StockroomSnail

I guess Romy gets space.

As Cirensica

Romy got a hit? Now his batting average is higher than Sosa’s

StockroomSnail

It was a spinner that parachuted into the OF but I’ll bet he felt like Burger. 17 days without a hit.

StockroomSnail

Romy 3 strikes with a bullet

As Cirensica

Didn’t know the game was on. Might as well turn it on and have it in the background while I work

StockroomSnail

Replace “work” with “drink” and you’re TLR

As Cirensica

ughhh…I don’t wanna.

StockroomSnail

Bacon trying so so hard to be positive.

As Cirensica

I’m with the Jays broadcast on Sportsnet. MLB.tv has the Jays blackout because I live in Canada.

StockroomSnail

I didn’t watch yesterday, but it must’ve been super brutal because flyouts are being praised.

BuehrleMan

I don’t watch often but I flipped on this game and heard Gordo praising a Sox player (Savala maybe?) for having positive strikeouts because he almost always went 2-2 and sometimes fouled off a pitch or two so he made the pitcher work.

I went away for a bit and came back and saw a ground ball double go past Vaughn at first and Gordo said something about what a good fielder Vaughn is.

Are either of those things true? Because trying to be positive is one thing but making stuff up is something else.

StockroomSnail

I’m willing to be forgiving in these hopeless times.

a-t

Trying to control the running game with back-picks is interesting. Dunno if it’ll work.

StockroomSnail

Guys take such huge leads with kopech pitching.

StockroomSnail

Romy drops the ball, where were you on that, Robert, ha?

As Cirensica

Dropped it again. Might cost us an extra run. Romy has not business to be in the Majors.

StockroomSnail

They must’ve really really hated leury.

Or thought sacrificing Leury would get people to holster their pitchforks.

As Cirensica

Adam Haseley is right there

As Cirensica

oh look… we are losing, 5 mins since I turned the game on. So in brand

StockroomSnail

Ugh.

Kopech successfully jammed Vladito and it was still a double. Just feels like nothing can go right for this squad atm.

Malkatraz

when it hits the barrel, it’s not “successfully jammed”

a-t

83.6 mph exit velo, that’s an out most of the time

roke1960

They get about 1 hit every 3 innings, and their pitchers generally walk about 1 every 2 innings. How do you expect anything to go right?

BillyKochFanClub

I mean, Robert stole a HR on Monday and the Jays just shrugged and immediately put 4 runs on the board.

When you’re arguably the worst team in baseball, bad luck is magnified because the team doesn’t work around it, they just fold.

BillyKochFanClub

Your honor, I move to strike the term “arguably”.

Sustained.

King Joffrey

Can we get Nomar Mazara back?

phillyd

I find it odd that a player can play his whole life at a position, make it to the majors and still not know how to receive a ball on a stolen base attempt.

abehickock

Did you actually think the Sox organization has competent instructors working in the minor leagues? Their players never come up prepared to play in the major leagues. They have to rely on their natural ability.

Foulkelore

Hypothetically, what if the White Sox are just done scoring runs for this year?

Augusto Barojas

They scored two runs the first game of the series, what more do you want?

roke1960

Romy’s back! (On the strikeout train)

upnorthsox

I guess Maeda wasn’t healthy after all.

Augusto Barojas

No, guess not. Even Alberto beat him, or the Sox would have gotten swept there too.

roke1960

This has to be the worst team in the major leagues. Oakland can’t be worse.

StockroomSnail

Even if they are worse than the Sox… look how hard they had to try.

upnorthsox

It was a multi-season effort.

roke1960

This is a serious question. How bad to all of you think things have to get before significant changes are made? What do you think will happen if they go 0-10 vs. the Rays and Jays?

roke1960

We’re talking they would be 7-23 at that point. The season would be over. How long can Hahn keep his job? Does Jerry even care anymore?

upnorthsox

I think JR isn’t even checking in anymore. A serious question back, would it be possible for MLB to step in if they feel things have gone adrift? Didn’t they do it before? Miami maybe?

roke1960

That’s an interesting point. But from the outside, the Sox are doing anything “wrong”, they’re just grossly incompetent. With Miami, pretty much everyone knew Loria was going to trade those expensive pieces off once things went bad, and that’s what he did. The Sox have a $180M payroll. It is just such an incredibly poorly assembled roster. MLB won’t step in and say “Get rid of that incompetent management.” That’s something a competent owner would do.

As Cirensica

I think if we lose the next 30 games in a row, Jerry might notice something is amiss and take an action or ask somebody to take an action. I really don’t think he is in charge anymore. I mean, he signs papers, but he does not run the business.

roke1960

Then who does? And how can that person watch this mess and not think changes are absolutely necessary?

As Cirensica

The persons watching this mess are Kenny and Rick. They won’t fire themselves.

roke1960

That’s so true.

White Sox Wade

Nothing will happen. I think that’s been established at this point. There is no financial motivation for the team to make changes. JR is likely happy that he won’t have to pay rent again this year.

StockroomSnail

Whenever the axe comes down, we’ll be surprised, and that’s terrible.

upnorthsox

Just as I was going to offer up a bouquet to the pen, Lambert decides to offer one up to Bichette instead.

upnorthsox

And now he’s the gift that keeps on giving…yeesh!

abehickock

Maybe the next Sox manager can be the Oakland A’s bench coach. They’re worse than last year’s Royals team so he may even be a little cheaper than Grifol.

Foulkelore

Down 7-0 again. If this were football, the offense would still be atrocious, but the defense would be pretty good, giving up just 1 touchdown per game. As a Bears fan, I’m fairly familiar with that configuration in my life.

As Cirensica

abehickock

Lol

upnorthsox

Is that the Jays on their way to the airport?

roke1960

No, they’re sad now. They have to go back to playing major league teams.

As Cirensica

I am baffled with Lenyn Sosa. A fantastic hitter in the minors and a complete useless hitter in the Majors.

Haseley struck out with a swing that was like a foot from the bat. Completely lost. It’s like they have a plan. Not idea how to face the pitchers they face.

roke1960

Andrus gets player of the game. He snapped the 6 strikeout streak the Jays relievers were on!

Foulkelore

On the plus side, Graveman is well rested.

upnorthsox

It’s all part of the master plan. True 4D chess in action.

As Cirensica

Seriously, the White Sox in the tank years had better hitters than this bunch.

Last games

3 hits
3 hits
4 hits
4 hits thus far

Unbelievable

upnorthsox

10 out of 11 K to end the game, Nice!!

As Cirensica

They mailed it in once they were down.

roke1960

Since Vaughn’s double on Monday, the Sox have scored no runs, have 9 hits, all singles, and 4 walks. That comes out to a slash line of .110/.151/.110. And the Blue Jays relievers today struck out 9 of the 10 men they faced. Something must be done now. They cannot face the Rays tomorrow without significant changes being made.

Maybe Grifol forgot to bring an adapter to Canada and he can’t charge the offense

abehickock

This is an embarrassment.

ForsterFTOG

Playing out the string in April is quite a look.

As Cirensica

Even the guys in the Jays broadcast are baffled when talking about how bad the White Sox are playing. They were lost for words. Can’t explain it.

SocksO’Graham

A change has to be made tonight.

roke1960

One thousand times…YES!

Foulkelore

Remember before the road trip when I was lamenting not seeing a way that they could win more than 3 out of 10? Ok, guys, go ahead and go 3-7 now, thanks.

BenwithVen

I’ll say it again for those in the back…They’re not winning a game until the first week of May when they play the Reds. They’ll still probably lose the series though.

As Cirensica

Only half game separates the White Sox from the Royals. We should be in last place in our weak division by the end of the week.

steelydan52

Just like in the movie Major League with Charlie Sheen, Grifol should make a big cutout of Jerry Reinsdorf fully clothed and every time the Sox lose, a piece of his clothing comes off. THEN we’ll see what they’re made of! Yes, it’s creepy.

GrinnellSteve

If this keeps up, I’ll start losing my confidence in this team.

steelydan52

If the Sox average 10,000 a game against the Rays I’ll be pissed. Stay home people!

Augusto Barojas

That’s my take. Boycott, until there is good reason not to. Going to a game is not cheap, do something fun instead without wasting money that winds up in the hands of greedy a-holes.

upnorthsox

Sorry I’ll be in attendance Saturday but they’ll win just for me.

steelydan52

At least hold up a “Sell the team” sign!

As Cirensica

I just realized the White Sox struck out 17 times today with only one walk
SEVENTEEN TIMES!!!

In a game started by Kikuchi. A mediocre lefty!

WOW

palkadance

Absolutely outrageous

steelydan52

Like my cub fan friend calls them…………..White Sux.
