Foulkelore

Ugh, Josh, what happened on that ground ball?

Whoom

He just wanted to make sure any hope was crushed early

dwjm3

Ah the great white Sox defense on full display

As Cirensica

The worst part is that Harrison is not part of the defensive woes

Adam

Oh boy….faceplant again vs Houston

dwjm3

Brought to you by Jerry who did virtually nothing to close the gap last offseason.

dwjm3

The white Sox will proceed to get zero runs in the bottom of the 1st

ForsterFTOG

Nostradamus

As Cirensica

Not a great start

hitlesswonder

I appreciate that the Astros remove all suspense about what a beat down is going to be delivered.

Right now being swept in abjectly embarrassing fashion is the best case scenario.

tommytwonines

It’s 2-0 in the second inning of the first game.

Relax

Adam

Lol, 2-0 is equivalent to 13-0 with this team. Lead feels insurmountable. Cueto has rebounded nicely but we’ll need to score at least 3 to win this. I’d like to see the roadmap to 3 runs.

Right Size Wrong Shape

They’ve scored 3 runs before. Sheesh.

Adam

I was actually just checking to confirm that. So…in the last 11 games, they’ve got 36 runs on 3 powerhouses in Detroit, kc, texas. So that is an impressive 3.4 a game. But it does come with a 8 run outburst. Take the outlier away and we’re at 2.8 over 10. It’s gonna be tight. I have faith but it’s running slim

As I say that Harrison is gunned down and we’ve got 4 innings to get 2.

Right Size Wrong Shape

They don’t give out a trophy for being the most miserable Sox fan. If you’re going to go into the fetal position when the other team scores 2 runs, then why bother?

Adam

Tis a question I ask myself almost nightly…

Shingos Cheeseburgers

It wouldn’t be the White Sox if they didn’t immediately snuff out even the tiniest ember of good vibes

Nellie Fox

Got the bad inning out of the way. The Sox must keep it together

Adam

Looks like Houston has realized just throw the ball anywhere. These idiots will swing

Nellie Fox

Jimenez was going to swing at that pitch if he threw in the upper deck

calcetinesblancos

Let’s see what happens. Hopefully they’re paying attention: lay off the high heat and the slider.

Nellie Fox

Homeruns won’t win this game for the Sox. Pitching is the key to the series. Larussa needs to manage for 9 innings…. Texas fired their manager today….. Just saying.

As Cirensica

We are gonna need one or two homers if we want to win this game

Nellie Fox

Could be but if pitching does not hold them, Sox will lose 10-2. Sox should batter the astro pitcher with singles/doubles , stolen bases, taking walks etc that wins ball games.

Right Size Wrong Shape

Thanks Frank. F the home run.

ForsterFTOG

Does Frank also teach the Sox to hit the ball and make sure it’s fair before they decide to run?

Right Size Wrong Shape

What does that have to do with hitting home runs?

ForsterFTOG

You mentioned Frank. You this fun all the time?
Even at home?

Right Size Wrong Shape

I still have no idea what you are talking about.

Joliet Orange Sox

Menechino is a huge problem for the Sox. His entire time as a MLB hitting coach in Miami and now with the Sox has included several teams with historically high percentages of singles in their total hits. He has been quoted as saying that he doesn’t care about home runs but wants high batting average. The Sox reflect Menechino’s philosophy with a high batting average, low numbers of home runs, and most importantly mediocre run production.

Josh Harrison and his slow tags…oddly, that is relevant for the second time in the last few days

Foulkelore

Not the best night for Josh with the error leading to the only runs so far, the missed tag, and the potential mistake on a sign for a caught stealing (also possible Gavin missed a hit-and-run sign and it wasn’t Josh’s fault).

Right Size Wrong Shape

The frustration continues.

dwjm3

Cueto is a joy to watch

Right Size Wrong Shape

Haven’t mentioned it yet tonight, but I love Johnny Cueto.

abehickock

Why can’t the Sox just run hard out of the box instead of looking at the ball. Pollock would have been safe at first.

Right Size Wrong Shape

He should have run hard, but I don’t think he would have beat it out.

Shingos Cheeseburgers

Beautiful summer weather and playing one of the best teams in the league and the attendance doesn’t clear 20k.

Sox fans, even the casual ones seem checked out.

dwjm3

32k at the game yesterday. The fans were smart enough to show up to the game we might actually win. Not checked out just clever.

Shingos Cheeseburgers

Just need to string together 7-8 singles and they’re right back in this

a-t

But for one goddamn easy double play grounder…

Adam

Get to first and second, 1 out and they just can’t wait. 2 pitches, 2 popups.

This is my biggest gripe with this team. Never let pitches go early in the count to get their pitch. Always swinging right away regardless of location. All year long. Putting the pitchers pitch in play to bad results like they are down 0-2

calcetinesblancos

Moncada picks really weird times to not work the count.

soxygen

Cueto is such a bad ass

hitlesswonder

I can’t believe that in 2022 Jose Abreu is still the Sox best position player. That’s a really weird bittersweet emblem of a failed* rebuild.

*probably more fair to say “only marginally successful”

Adam

I still have faith on the rebuild. Failed season probably. But in some ways it could be a positive. A good kick in the teeth can be a strong motivator. Put a more cohesive team around most of the core and 2022 could just be a blip around an otherwise successful run.

soxygen

That’s the second time tonight that Garcia has had trouble with his lower half when making contact

Foulkelore

Yeah, good eye. I noticed the same thing. He’s actually hit some decent fly balls, but it looks like he’s either hurting or his lower half is coming out of alignment or something on contact.

ForsterFTOG

He’s done that exact thing for at least two weeks.

Foulkelore

C’mon, Eloy. One time.

Foulkelore

Yes!

ForsterFTOG

All you have to do is ask.

Adam

Gonna lose it if Vaughn gets thrown out at the plate. Pinch run!

As Cirensica

Eloy…clutch hit. So exciting …

a-t

Eloy in the clutch!

As Cirensica

Maldonado was pissed off after Eloy’s hit

calcetinesblancos

This ump is getting on my nerves.

Adam

YO-YO!!!!

Foulkelore

There you go, Moncada!

Right Size Wrong Shape

Didn’t really show enough emotion when he got to first though. Clearly still doesn’t care.

a-t

LFG Yoan! Charlie buddy you should go to games more often

As Cirensica

One of the most exciting 2 outs base empty innings this season?

Wild

FIRE

hitlesswonder

Lost of things about that half inning were cool but I really enjoyed Jose Abreu getting intentionally walked in his age 35 season.

As Cirensica

Respect

a-t

And sprinting around to score on it!

upnorthsox

And that’s a White Sox Winner!!

As Cirensica

Four wins in a row
Cueto, greatest ‘off season” signing

Foulkelore

What a great win. This game sure can be fun.

a-t

Best win of the season.

calcetinesblancos

When you win after it looks like you’re going to lose for most of the game, it’s much sweeter for sure.

calcetinesblancos

Liam always has to make it interesting I swear.

denman

What say we just sweep this series?

As Cirensica

Interesting….go on…
