P.O. Sox: The questions the White Sox didn’t answer

Fortunately or unfortunately, the White Sox’s acquisition of AJ Pollock and the San Diego Padres’ trade for Sean Manaea rendered a few of the P.O. Sox questions outdated in short order, but Sox Machine supporters still gave me plenty to discuss around the good/bad news.

We’ll begin with the lone question on one side of the ball.

I don’t even know what to call it anymore. I feel equally stupid saying “Guaranteed Rate Field” and “The G-Spot”. I think calling it “Comiskey” is an insult to our bygone mecca, even if I wasn’t around to see it. I’m not as opposed to “The Rate”, but I generally just say “The Sox Ballpark” or something equally generic.

So if FutureSox and SoxMachine are merging, when will FutureSox content become available?

I’ve heard “GRate Field” (Prounounced Great Field) bandied about a few times. Also heard Sox Fans just call it Sox Park or Comiskey .

One question answered. Welcome, Reese McGuire!

burning-phoneix

When I asked some Jays fans about Reese, the first thing that came to mind was that he was arrested for jacking off in his car whilst in the Minors XD

Just another reason to subsidize prospect housing, imo.

calcetinesblancos

Plot twist: he was living in his car, which was thus technically his house.

calcetinesblancos

What an idiot; you obviously have to be in the majors before you could get away with something like that.

Show me the catcher!!

Glad McGuire is a lefty also, with some ability to hit righties.

One good thing about replacing guys who are completely inaqequate is that even modestly mediocre guys look pretty good by comparison.

Hahnโ€™s timing is impeccable. He didnโ€™t rush in RF or to unload Kimbrel and merged two problems to form a solution. Now heโ€™s letting other teamsโ€™ roster crunches come to him and trading flexibility for impact. Not sure what heโ€™s going to do when the Adolfo decision can no longer be avoided, but I for one am optimistic heโ€™s got a plan.

Very good trade. I’m glad Hahn realized that Collins was probably not going to have value much longer.

I really hope the Sox learned from how they “developed” Collins. That was a masterclass in idiocy.

I call it โ€œthe Vig.โ€
