Writing about the White Sox for a 16th season, first here, then at South Side Sox, and now here again. Letโs talk curling.

The Cardinals’ Wainwright and Molina are 4th on the all-time list for total games as battery mates. The names above them on the list have some Sox connections.
Hall of Famers Faber and Schalk played for the Sox for those 306 games. Del Crandall spent several years in the Sox radio booth alongside Lorn Brown in the 1980’s.
Wow, thanks for the very cool stat. And they’re both coming back to the Cardinals next year, so they have a very good chance at reaching the number 1 spot.
The stat is from the tbs broadcast of the game. I paused the game to jot down the numbers. They even showed a picture of Faber and Schalk. Rare national tv coverage of Sox greats from a century ago.
The Dodgers were the second-easiest team to run on behind the White Sox. There’s a high-leverage two-out stolen base, and there’s the Dodgers making it moot.
I’ve been rooting for the Cards because I think they would be an easier match-up in the World Series, and I still think that’s true. But boy would that STL run game give the Sox fits!
Ballgame. That was quite the hanger.
That was a great ball game. The closeness was entertaining because I had just a casual rooting interest but would have made me very stressed if the Sox were involved.
I was rooting for the Dodgers. 106 wins seems like it should count for something. I also lived in Urbana for a decade attending our fine state university and met a lot of Cardinals fans. I have said here before that I am stunned when I meet Sox fans who root for the Cardinals as their NL team based on some kind of enemy-of-my-enemy reasoning. Cardinal fans are really really really obnoxious. They contribute just as much as Cubs fans to the complete non-existence of the Sox in downstate media coverage of baseball.
Dodger fans may be obnoxious as well but they are thousands of miles away. My NL team is the Pirates because of a close friend who is from Pittsburgh and a die-hard Pirate fan.
I watched the game until the 9th inning, then my tiredness took over, and fell asleep. It was a much better game than the Redsox-Yankees game.
