Cleveland always plays with their hair on fire against us

Shingos Cheeseburgers

Friday night crowd? Playing their closest division rival? Excitement about the trade deadline? The potential for fan murdering is off the charts tonight.

polishwith

the offense already doing their part

If Zavala and Mercedes had a baby you’d have a reasonably cromulent catcher.

LamarHoyt_oncrack

No disrespect, but I will be glad once we stop seeing Garcia in the lineup almost every day.

If this pitcher’s ERA is 7.5, doesn’t that mean we should expect to score 7 runs? Not looking like it so far.

This game should be over because we now have 4 good relievers for the final 3 innings. And… we’re seeing Bummer instead.

I think Bummer will still see some medium leverage opportunities going forward. He has been inconsistent with his command but his stuff looks good. He was great on Wednesday and fine tonight. Teams that win a lot of games have to use more than 4 relievers and those relievers will have some disappointing games.

I am glad the Sox added Tepera and Kimbrel but I think those moves replace Heuer and Burr in the pen and move others to lower leverage and less usage but we’ll still see Bummer and even Ruiz. I thought Bummer was an ok choice for the 7th tonight.

Apparently was much better choice than Tepera in the 8th. Not what anyone was hoping or expecting. At least it’s still tied.

I posted the previous reply when the Sox were batting in the bottom of the 7th before Tepera came in. I think Tepera just had one of those disappointing outings all relievers have (except magic seasons like Bruce Sutter in 1977). I was more than a little suprised to see Ruiz in such high leverage and pleasantly surprised he did the job.

jhomeslice

Looks like they’ll win anyway, all good.

Shingos Cheeseburgers

What’s the deadline for acquiring third base coaches? Woof that was a bad send.

Not a great debut for Tepera….

jhomeslice

At least he wasn’t the guy they traded Madrigal for. But yeah, pretty much no difference from a bad night of Marshall, etc.

LamarHoyt_oncrack

Geezus. Tepera laid quite an egg in his debut.

Now we get to see Ruiz and company instead of Liam/Kimbrel.

Could Hamilton have pinch run for Sheets, and then moved Vaughn to DH, Ham in right? Or would that not be allowed?

joewho112

Cannot move from field to DH

Shingos Cheeseburgers

Hell yeah just what we were all expecting tonight: Jose Ruíz making an appearance in the highest leverage situation.

Scary fucking situation with Abreu. And that’s the fastest I’ve seen TLR move all year.

LaRussa running is going to be a GIF…so funny
