SUMMARY
This plan comes in under budget at just about 109 mil. There are a lot of guys making the minimum. The Sox get LH with Grandal and Carlson and fill the C and RF voids for years to come, the OF is pretty athletic and young with Eloy, Robert, and Carlson. I am placing a whole of faith in Collins to be DH,C, 1B role(more on that later). Madrigal comes up all season and have the infield.
Losing Bummer hurts but when Rodon comes back throw him in as high leverage lefty. I know he wants and thinks he should be starter but health questions remain. Never have enough pitching and can figure out what to do with the six starters when Pineda comes back from suspension. Kopech and I'm sure Cease to some extent will be on some innings restrictions anyway.
Here's where I ask ownership to extend the budget a little and go for broke and make that lineup pretty tough. Sign Nic Castellanos to a deal with aav of 16 mil a year and the payroll still comes in at only 125. C: Grandal 1B: Abreu 2B: Madrigal SS: TA 3B: Moncada LF: Eloy CF: Robert RF: Carlson DH: Castellanos that lineup plays and is even considered scary.
