The White Sox did make one move before the trade deadline. It was another exchange of international pool money for a left-handed relief prospect from an AL East team.
This time, it was Hunter Schryver, who would be much more interesting if he were named Hyntyr Schryvyr. As it stands, he’s a 23-year-old from Villanova drafted by the Rays in the seventh round of the 2017 draft (senior signing). He’s had a decent year, with 59 strikeouts to 55 baserunners over 48⅔ innings and a 2.40 ERA across Low-A Bowling Green and High-A Charlotte (Florida League).
As is usually the case with these things, it’s more scouting than stats. The White Sox sent $1 million to the Rays.

Lou Bob lives!
Cashing a lotta checks lately.
Saw Victor Diaz in the W-S box score and kinda did a double take. Turns out he was the starter for the other team, but what happened to ours from the Chris Sale trade? Is he just perpetually injured?
Rays front office:
“What should we do with the million dollars?”
“White Sox sent $1 million to the Rays.”
I think they just allowed the Rays to spend $1 million.
Birmingham at Mississippi suspended
I hope it was Mississippi that was caught with the PED’s
Tilson?
Fulmer?
They didn’t play.
That seems to be a running theme.
Gotta make sure Trayce gets regular playing time. I’m sure he’ll be the first one called up in case of injury.
Rick certainly wouldn’t want to call up a guy who went 0-5 with 2 strikeouts yesterday. He’s clearly not ready.
Send him to AA
Bryce Bush stuffing the stat sheet. Has anything been said about addressing the hitch in his swing, or are they just going to let him go and see what happens?
I’m sure they try smoothing it out in the off-season but boy is he on fire to start his career
Michael Kopech highlights
He’s nasty! Now I know why Eloy’s not up- he hasn’t checked the “Leap into the 6th row to take away a home run” box yet.
Maybe Hahn isn’t certain Eloy and Kopech are ready for the high energy environment of Chicago. Based on the shots of the stands, the 50% higher Sox attendance could really overwhelm them.
I’ve heard a lot of talk (mostly positive) about his new curveball he’s been working in this season. For anyone who’s actually been able to watch, is this cutting into his slider usage? Or his change? Or is more just an added weapon that he’s working in equally?
