Per usual on a Saturday, Larry recaps in the past week at South Side Sox.

  • Charlotte 8, Gwinnett 4
    • Tyler Flowers: 3-for-3 with a homer, two RBI and two walks.
    • Stefan Gartrell hit a solo shot, walked twice and struck out over five PAs.
    • Brent Morel went 1-for-5 with a triple and a strikeout.
    • JOrdan Danks was 3-for-4 with a strikeout.
    • Alejandro De Aza left the game after one at-bat.
    • Jhonny Nunez struck out two during a 1-2-3 inning.
  • Mississippi 11, Birmingham 5
    • Christian Marrero went 3-for-3 with a double, RBI and two walks.
    • C.J. Retherford doubled and struck out twice over six ABs.
  • Lynchburg 4, Winston-Salem 0
    • Jose Martinez went 2-for-3 with a walk.
    • Brandon Short (two K’s), Eduardo Escobar and Jon Gilmore (two K’s) each went 0-for-4.
    • Nathan Jones allowed four runs on eight hits over six innings, with no walks and two strikeouts.
    • Kyle Bellamy allowed a hit and struck out a batter in a scoreless inning.
  • Augusta 3, Kannapolis 2
    • Brady Shoemaker went 2-for-4 with a double and a strikeout.
    • Nick Ciolli was 2-for-4; Miguel Gonzalez 1-for-3.
    • Justin Collop struck out 10 over seven strong innings, allowing three runs on eight hits and a walk.
  • Elizabethton 9, Bristol 1
    • Rangel Ravelo was 1-for-4.
    • Tyler Saladino struck out twice and walked once.
  • Great Falls 8, Missoula 0
    • Ross Wilson went 2-for-3 with two walks and three RBI.
    • Andy Wilkins did the same, except with a double and only one RBI.
    • Juan Silverio earned the golden sombrero during an 0-for-5 night.
