Writing about the White Sox for a 16th season, first here, then at South Side Sox, and now here again. Let’s talk curling.
Those Rockies jersey are pretty sweet
Benetti and Stones pronouce Tovar so wrong. They say TOvar, but it is toVAR. Surprised for Benetti. He generally pronounce Hispanic names correctly.
For sure for IPA pronunciation, but if I was explaining to a non-Spanish speaker I would say “toe-BAR” personally. That way the only thing they’d likely struggle with is how to approach the “r” ending the word
Sounds like a drinking establishment frequented by Rex Ryan.
100%, with a tattoo parlor in the back
Might as well have guys on 3rd try and steal home if Moncada is up with 2 outs.
Just gotta call out the minors tonight, as…that’s our most optimistic thing to look at as Sox fans:
Tonight:
Mason Adams – 6 ip, 7/1 k/bb, 5 hits, 3 er.
Ky Bush (!) – (still pitching) 5 ip, 6/1 k/bb, 1 hit, 0 er.
Peyton Pallete – 3.2 ip, 4/4, 2 hits, 0 er (Veloz relieved him and has 0’s through 3.1 ip)
Jacob Gonzalez – first HR for Kanny
The mlb team is a turd right now but there’s lots to feel good about in the minors. I know we’ve heard it before… but maybe some new leaders running the show will do the rebuild the right way now.
A new core of prospects they’ll fail to supplement with the necessary additions to actually win anything.
It’s also remarkable that there are exactly zero interesting prospects at AAA. It’s not like they’ve aggressively traded off prospects to build the MLB product into a winner.
Sad but true. Lots of people think they don’t seem to value AAA as a step for MLB… maybe it’s time to rethink the entire paradigm. I guess that’s the “duh” statement of the week though.
This team really is bad, but from a culture standpoint, you have to be pleased that they didn’t just put on disguises tonight or refuse to put on their uniforms after losing 14-1 yesterday: Good thing they got rid of all those malcontents at the trade deadline.
Now that they got rid of Lynn, Giolito, Graveman, and Burger, this team is RICH in culture!
I love how rooting for culture feels liberating. Wins and losses don’t even matter any more.
but we might end up worse than the royals… we’re not nearly as far as we once were…
That is all part of the plan. That’s why they brought Pedro in – “show us The Royals Way.”
They could certainly end up worse than the Royals next year over a full season minus all the guys they just traded.
great, something to look forward to… a miserable 2024.
They will prepare every day to kick asses
who are “they”, because this team rarely has looked ‘prepared’ especially to ‘kick asses’. probably not this year at all. even when we did win.
They are the petri dish of MLB.
Elvis “why is he even here” Andrus fWAR is higher than untouchables Eloy’s and Vaughn’s fWAR combined. Yup. Let’s trade Burger and build around the no trade list mediocrity players.
This team’s defense is just pure comedy
Basically, Colas playing the game the right way saved that from being an inside the park home run or 4-base error. That’s what I’m talking about.
Even though they have been outscored 21-3 by a really bad team in this series these guys still haven’t given up.
Rockues manager testing the Slow Hook Pedro strategy.
Not going well
Outscored 25-6 in two games, but both games were a lot closer than the score indicated.
Enjoy the R̶i̶d̶e̶ slide.
Was at the game, lots of Sox fans in Denver. On the field, the Rockies looked light years ahead of the Sox, which is saying something because they are also bad but playing a lot of young guys who look like they will turn into good players. Tough time to be a fan of the pale hose, hopefully some of these young guys in the minor turn into competent players.
