Hanser doesn’t have the fat guy strength that it seems like he should have. He’ll put a violent swing on one, and it usually comes off of his bat like he hit it with a wet newspaper.

Someone floated trying Burger at 2B on another thread. That’s almost certainly a bad idea but it’d make for a fun experiment. Is the offensive upgrade of Sheets/Burger over Andrus worth the defensive downgrade of Burger instead of Andrus?
It’s such a low defensive bar for Burger to jump over, but I don’t think he does it.
I replied to that comment jocosely that I would put Burger on 3B and Yoan in 2B
My fantasy team is feeling an altered version of this roster squeeze. I somehow ended up with Devers, Moncada, and Burger, with one 3B spot and one UTL spot. Moncada has more P/G in this format so my current strategy is to bench Burger. But it’s delightfully painful watching him hit HR seemingly every night.
My instincts to root against Clevinger are overriding my instincts to root for the Sox.
Just remember, he’s only one a-hole. The Guardians probably have lots of them.
My instincts to root against Cleveland also remain strong.
They actually made me feel sorry for TLR briefly last season with their low class division clinching celebration. Making me feel anything positive for that guy is reason enough to root against them.
It’s weird to dunk on a loser franchise when you’re a loser franchise.

He has a laughable 244 wRC+ vs LHP. That ties Barry Bonds’ career high for wRC+ in a season. Coincidence? I don’t think so.

I know they aren’t very good, but I’m not used to the Guardians playing this poorly against the Sox. They’ve pantsed the Sox for about a decade no matter how good they were, so this is foreign to me.

God, Pedro’s bullpen decisions drive me up a wall. Clevinger arguably shoulda been done after 6, but he definitely shoulda been yanked sooner, and the guy coming in should be one of the GOOD relievers.

Different approach from Reynaldo tonight— using the whole starter’s aresenal with all of slider, curve, and change making appearances. Makes the fastball’s primary attribute, velo, that much more apparent. Now if only he could throw strikes with it
