White Sox Minor Keys: July 30, 2022

First Horizon Park in Nashville.

Two health updates:

*Luis Robert will end up missing the entire weekend of games for Charlotte in Nashville, which deprives me of a chance to see him up close. The White Sox initially ruled him out of Friday’s game with a cold, but said they expected him to play Saturday and today, which struck me as strange given the unpredictability of illnesses this decade. The whole thing doesn’t make it easier to trust that the White Sox have a firm handle on what’s ailing Robert right now.

*Oscar Colás sat on Saturday after getting beaned and exiting early Friday night. Mark Gonzales said the reports are positive.

One of our MOST underrated minor league players in 2022 is 2020 second round RHP Jared Kelley. He needs to be promoted to Winston-Salem. Kelley had a TON of injuries in 2021 and horrible control in 2021, but he’s really blossoming now.
