A new idea: hire bounty hunters to kill all the right handed pitchers on other teams.

Personally, I prefer to cheer for food poisoning in those situations. Maybe infiltrating Uber Eats is a better approach?

As Cirensica

Today we will win. I can feel it.

Getting two runs via zero hits off an LHP after having 2nd & 3rd with no outs is on point for the 2022 Sox

As Cirensica

This magnifies the importance of the WALKS. The White Sox have been terrible at it, and see what could happen when you don’t swing at bad pitches? you score runs!

Dylan really looks like he’s hitting his ceiling this year. Wish they’d thrown money at ‘Los… coulda had a historically good rotation.

jhomeslice

He looks like he might wind up being the staff ace, to me.

If Rodon had managed to be healthy and productive in the playoffs, they surely would have given him a QO. With his health, hard to fault them too much for letting him go. Just a brutal health track record.

Joliet Orange Sox

Cease has looked outstanding today. I think Cease and Giolito could be co-aces in a very good rotation. If Lynn comes back healthy and Kopech can throw a good number of innings, this could be a very good rotation. Let’s hope for some run support for those starters.

While I agree, mostly, he still hasn’t proven any mental toughness. He shit the bed in the playoffs.

a-t

That’s a silly thing to say. The entire pitching staff minus Tepera crapped the bed in the playoffs last year, largely because they were exhausted after an insufficient innings base the year before.

As Cirensica

Exhausted?

They were all pampered in August and September. Maybe they were all rusty.

There’s just no way that Rodon could have thrown any more innings than he did last year because he had so few the previous two years. I wish Keuchel’s contract coulda been dumped or w/e after last year… Rodon plus still Velasquez and Cueto for depth would have been a very reasonable path to take imo

It will be interesting to see what Rodon gets next year, assuming he stays healthy and productive.

I think with the emergence of Cease and maybe Kopech the Sox “window” now extends through 2025.

Trout is no match for the magic ‘stache.

As Cirensica

Robert is heating up again.

jhomeslice

3 K’s against Trout. Impressive! Has to be close to best outing of Cease’s career.

Today Cease had a game score of 86 which is the best of his career. He did have an 80 last April 29 when he pitched 7 innings (a complete game since it was a 2021 double-header game) giving up 3 hits, no runs, no walks, and striking out 9. Both games are outstanding outings. Cease also had excellent game scores of 79, 78, and 76 last year.

As Cirensica

I predicted he was going to win the Cy Young last year. I guess I was 1 year too early? Although Gausman has become an early favorite.

Foulkelore

Cease was the star, for sure, but great to see Hendriks look like he did as well.
