Let’s Win It All
PREAMBLE
Regardless of what the White Sox do, they will be a very good team next year. I think the biggest focus will be getting more left handed, and better on defense. As much as I would love to see names like Semien, Seager, and Scherzer in a White Sox uniform, I just don’t see that happening. I think these additions really solidify the lineup, and give the team a great chance for us to bring that World Series trophy home to Chicago.
ARBITRATION-ELIGIBLE PLAYERS
- Lucas Giolito: $7.9M
- Tender – Would love to see an extension, but will probably have to wait one more year.
- Reynaldo López; $2.8M
- Tender – If one of the starters go down, this is a someone you are going to want around to pick up innings
- Evan Marshall: $2.3M
- Non tender – I would try and bring him back on a minor league deal
- Adam Engel: $2.2M
- Tender – Absolutely have to bring him back.
- Brian Goodwin: $1.7M
- Non tender – Great story from last year, but money is tight.

No. 1: Michael Conforto (4 year, $68 million) This is a perfect fit for the White Sox. Don’t need to break the bank, and you get the left handed power hitter in RF you have been looking for since the early Eaton days. I think Conforto is going to bounce back big time, and love the buy low option here.
No. 2: Eduardo Escobar (2 year, $20 Million). The man who should of been in a White Sox uniform last year. Great lefty power bat, good defense, and a reliable 2-3 WAR player.
No. 3: Manny Pina (2 year, $3.5 million). Sox need a backup catcher who can actually catch.
No. 4: Colin McHugh (1 year, $2.5 million). Can never have too many arms in the bullpen
TRADES
No. 1: Craig Kimbrel to Blue Jay or Phillies for a couple of mid tier pitching prospects
Anything you can get for Kimbrel is going to be a win.

Conforto would be a good fit (hopefully his regression this year is just a blip on the radar) but I’m hearing he will only take short term, maybe even single year deals, to build up his FA value.
I think if they offered Conforto 5/90 or even skirted 5/100 he’d take it.
So you’re going with 11 pitchers? I don’t understand if you just give Kimbrel away, then why pick up the option for 16m , should just do the buyout and let him walk.
I mean, at this point I guess picking up the option is kinda forced on him given they’ve already done it.
