Andrew Vaughn is hitting .321/.386/.564 (45-140) with nine home runs and 25 RBI in 42 games since 6/29. His .321 average during that span ranks third in the American League.
I like the aggressiveness in general. But against a great defense, with a slow runner, and top of the order coming up w/bases loaded and one out? Not a good call.
And Franco has a .920 OPS vs lefties, and .676 vs righties. TLR allowing Bummer to face him.
So much for our lights out bullpen. And TLR using it in asinine way, I’m sorry.

It’s actually a good game but my stomach hurts.
We need to start this series with a W!

You usually get what you deserve by moving the go ahead run into scoring position

It was really short sighted to take out Kimbrel there. You have to anticipate that Arozarena is going to pinch hit there. Kimbrel started a little rough, but he retired 2 out of 3 guys and threw his best pitches to the last hitter he faced.
Nobody is going to convince me that TLR is not a complete tool way more often than people hold him accountable for, because of their record and division lead.

Bummber back to crap again. But he shouldn’t be in there facing a guy with Franco’s lefty/righty splits. Just stupid.
Tony only thought one move ahead and wanted Bummer to get Lowe. He didn’t anticipate the counter with the pinch hitter, and didn’t properly consider the risk that Bummer would have to stay in there for Franco and Cruz, who both mash lefties, if Bummer didn’t get that first out.
He is the manager version of a vulture. He tends to manage teams with a lot of talent that are carried by the players to the World Series. He would have no idea how to manage the Rays.
If they win this one, it’s all on the players, you got that right.
To lose a game like this would be inexcusable. Thanks to Tim it’s not over yet, but teams don’t usually win games with managerial blunders like in this one. And losing games like this tend to kill the positive mojo/momo from a prior series.

Just everything about that inning, the walks, the defense, the LaRussas, was horrid.
Abreu/Eloy/Moncada need to get that second run home. Cmon.
Bad send by McEwing ..Vaughn is slow
Does he ever not send? Terrible.
He is usually pretty aggressive but that not quite that reckless

Pathetic at bat Tim…swinging at everything
Wacha bend-don’t-break gotta end soon.
We hope.
Kimbrel… 7 straight balls to start the 8th. Throw strikes dude, come on.
He looks like a fish out of water in the 8th
I don’t like Tony’s plan with him

Yup, you don’t play lefty righty matchups with a closer like Kimbrel. The inning is his unless he just completely melts down.

Bummer shouldn’t be pitching in the highest leverage situations anymore. We made this moves to avoid those exact scenarios with him.

His baseball acumen is enormously overrated.

Going to need a stiff drink.
Where is Grandal?
If not rhetorical: Charlotte. If rhetorical: No kidding, can’t wait until he’s back.
Great night for TA!
Regardless of what happens in the bottom of the inning, Tim gets 1 full WAR for this game, right?
Whew, great job to salvage this one.
