Comparing the careers of Andrew Vaughn and Spencer Torkelson is already fun. Will Torkelson match or beat Vaughn’s draft position?
Will their power and selectivity translate to MLB production? How similar will their careers be?

I would also like to see if Nick Gonzalez at SS is better than Adam Dunn in the outfield.

Anyone know any of the projected pitchers or position players for the games this weekend?  Planning on going to the game tomorrow but I can’t find anything online

Which team?

KLaw posted his top 20 prospects for the White Sox. #4 will surprise you.

Nick Gonzales is arm challenged as well as range challenged. He seems like a player without a position. He’s all bat. That said, he will go in the top 10.

In a talk last week Longenhagen was asked how many high school pitchers would go in the first 15 picks. He said one, maybe.

This is probably the place to mention prospect Nick Swiney, a perfect name for a pitcher from North Carolina State University. Possible nickname: CAFO.

Logged in so that I could +1 this reference.

I just noticed on Fangraphs that Leiter is 2021 draft eligible because of age. Have college teammates ever gone 1/2 in the draft before?

asinwreck

No, the closest we’ve come to that is 1/3. Gerrit Cole and Trevor Bauer did that out of UCLA in 2011. Given the animosity between them, a sitcom of their college experiences would be entertaining.

Bob Horner and Hubie Brooks had the same draft slots out of Arizona State more than thirty years before Cole and Bauer. Horner went straight to the majors with the Braves, and I was excited to get his rookie card as that surely was the start of a HoF career.
