White Sox Minor Keys: June 28, 2018

Back in late May, Gavin Sheets appeared to shed the concerns about his power output when, after going homerless over his first 38 games, he went deep in consecutive games.

But then he went 19 straight games without a blast afterward.

Sheets once again broke out of a brownout in a big way, socking a pair of dingers against Frederick tonight. It’s part of a complete breakfast, as he extended his hitting streak to 12 games. He’s hitting .360/.377/.540 over these 53 plate appearances with two walks and five strikeouts. The control of the strike zone has been on his side all season, but the slugging percentage is his biggest obstacle between Winston-Salem and Birmingham. More so than Keon Barnum.
