White Sox Minor Keys: April 12, 2018

Two of the four White Sox affiliates held their home openers on Thursday night, but Winston-Salem had the only one worth bragging about.

Not only did they come up with the only win, and not only was it a 10-inning, 3-2 thriller, but Joel Booker scored the winning run by stealing home, as you can see in the clip above courtesy of Matt Cassidy of FutureSox.

As for the other affiliates, the less said the better.

But let’s go through the box scores anyway.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 11, Charlotte 1

Montgomery 7, Birmingham 1

Winston-Salem 3, Carolina 2 (10 innings)

Charleston 6, Kannapolis 4

Probably the most distressing thing about that Charlotte box score for me is that they gave up eleven runs to a team that was batting Cody Asche leadoff.

Does Zack Collins have a hit yet?

Fitting in nicely with Hawkins, Barnum, and Mendick.

Trooper Galactus

Probably shouldn’t lump Mendick in with three first rounders when listing disappointing hitters, even if their results mirror one another.

Woof, Jordan Stephens. Not exactly gunning for that promotion.

Tilson and Cordell are providing job security for Engel.
