White Sox Minor Keys: June 21, 2022

Colson Montgomery’s on-base streak reached a nice round number on Tuesday, as he opened his week by reaching base in his 30th straight game in Kannapolis’ 8-5 loss to Myrtle Beach.

Montgomery actually achieved the feat three times over, going 3-for-5. In the process, he reached another nice round number, as his line of .321/.421/.481 gives him an OPS of .902 on the season.

  • Carlos Pérez went 1-for-4.
  • Gavin Sheets was 0-for-4.
  • Eloy Jiménez and Yolbert Sánchez both were 0-for-4 with two strikeouts.

Rocket City 9, Birmingham 2

  • José Rodríguez went 2-for-4 with a walk.
  • Lenyn Sosa homered, walked twice and struck out once.
  • Yoelqui Céspedes was 1-for-4 with a K.

  • Oscar Colás went 2-for-4 with a homer, walk and strikeout.
  • Bryan Ramos went 1-for-5 with a strikeout.
  • Luis Mieses, 1-for-4 with a double and a strikeout.
  • Adam Hackenberg walked, got plunked and struck out twice.
  • Andrew Dalquist: 5.1 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 7 K, 2 HR

I wonder what else Colson Montgomery needs to show before he gets promoted…other than, say, a 40 game on base streak.

You would think with his 14th homer that Lenyn Sosa would get promoted pretty soon, too.
