White Sox Wake Up Call: Aug. 27, 2020

Morning, White Sox fans! The rundown for this morning’s episode:

  • Yesterday afternoon: the White Sox swept their two-game series against the Pirates in a 10-3 blowout. Dallas Keuchel didn’t no-hit, but he didn’t need to as the Sox hit 4 more homers to pace him to his fifth victory on the season.
  • Friday: the Sox are off Thursday, but will face the Royals and (likely) Danny Duffy on Friday evening.
  • Around the league: Cleveland beat Minnesota, so the Sox are just a half-game back from the division lead. The Angels and Astros were postponed on account of Hurricane Laura, while multiple teams mutually opted out of playing on account of the shooting of Jacob Blake in Wisconsin.

The Sox are doing something special this year no doubt, but I hope the players show solidarity and cancel games in protest. I would expect Kenny to totally have his players back on this, given his life story (John Carlos is his godfather man!)
