White Sox Wake-Up Call: Aug. 16, 2022

Good morning. Here’s the rundown:

LAST NIGHT: Just when it looked like Johnny Cueto was going to go without support for another night, the White Sox brought the fire with a four-run eighth inning in a 4-2 victory over Houston.

TONIGHT: It’s Dylan Cease vs. Justin Verlander. You might’ve heard about it.

ON THE FARM: The ACL White Sox and DSL White Sox both win one-run games of vastly different shapes.

AROUND THE LEAGUE: The postseason schedule is set, the Rangers fire their manager, the Yankees continue to struggle while the AL Wild Card race tightens.
