White Sox Wake-Up Call: Aug. 1, 2019

Good morning. Here’s the rundown:

  • TRADE DEADLINE: The White Sox trade Nate Jones and nobody else, while the Astros go big with Zack Greinke.
  • LAST NIGHT: Alex Colomé immediately proved why teams weren’t knocking down the door for his services as the White Sox lost again.
  • TODAY: Dylan Cease tries to avoid one terrible inning as the Sox try to avoid getting swept by the Mets.
  • ON THE FARM: Andrew Vaughn makes his Winston-Salem debut, and Nick Madrigal joins Charlotte’s roster.
  • AROUND THE LEAGUE: The Twins and Indians both win, the NL Central is even, and the Reds and Pirates play nice.
