Even if Tony’s doctor said it was ok for a 78 year old man who just had a pacemaker put in to go back to managing a professional sports team, that doesn’t make it a sound decision. You don’t have to be a doctor to know that stress can cause heart conditions, and isn’t good for them.
It would be completely irresponsible for Jerry to let him back on the field, no matter what a particular doctor says. I’m sure you can find doctors who would think it was not a good idea. It’s not like the team desperately needs Tony to come back. More like they desperately need him not to.
Yeah, this is where having an adult in the room would help greatly. Tony La Russa won’t give up managing so easily, I think.
Not everybody handed a lemon chooses to make lemonade….
You can grind it up in the garbage disposal to get rid of that nasty garbage smell.
I think the managerial situation for Sox fans the past two years has been more of a turn than a lemon.
Turn? Did you misspell turd?
Agreed. I suspect he would honestly choose to die in the dugout during a game rather than step down and enjoy retired life for several more years. I’d assume he views leaving the game on a relative low note as “admitting defeat”….
I’m not sure it’s about admitting defeat as much as it is that he just enjoys ruining things. He didn’t hit Garcia 2nd and 3rd those games because he objects to defeat.
LaRussa must have interjected some managerial wisdom while on the field before the game. Watching things like Eloy standing in the batters box admiring his long fly and then strolling down to first is so Tony but has rarely happened under Cairo, watching Leury get 3 ABs and make an error for Tony, leaving Cueto in while getting obviously hammered because Tony’s starters are penciled in to go 6, etc.
If TLR is going to bring his malaise around this team, maybe all of the players can get a pacemaker.
Is anyone else having an issue with the podcast not appearing? I’ve tried reloading the page numerous times. Even restarted my phone in hopes that it would suddenly appear so I could listen to it. No luck as of yet…
Okay. It finally appeared!
Good to hear.
I just received an email from our podcast platform they were troubleshooting an issue.

Much appreciated! Love all you guys do for us masochistic White Sox fans. Thank you!
If the Sox wanted to adjust the rotation and thought it was a better matchup, they could put Lynn on regular rest against Cleveland and push back Giolito. But they would probably like to get Lynn an extra day of rest for his knees
I also vote for Lynn vs Cleve and Martin back up just in case.
