The idea that the end of season presser has been delayed because of potential front office changes is very interesting.

From all the speculation that Hahn was displeased with the TLR hiring process last year, to KW being denied the opportunity to interview for the Blue Jays exec job all a few years back, is this a case of “where there’s smoke, there’s fire” or just more White Sox weirdness?

I’ll go on record as saying I do believe the Hahn frustration was real, but by the end of the regular season he seemed to, at the very least, develop a better poker face for his feelings on Tony. He was extremely complementary in ways he didn’t have to be in interviews.

Hahn is not the perfect GM and has made mistakes, but I hope there isn’t a chance he is leaving. Although the TLR hiring was bananas weird and stupid such that it would be hard to blame him if he did. It would be frustrating working for a boss that you know has enormous resources but (so far) won’t spend, and does things to undermine what you have worked hard to build.

I had wondered about Rob, too. I don’t live in Chicago, so I’m not in tune with local media heroes outside of the Score and Tom Skilling

I always think it’s funny when Josh says, “Thanks, Rob” to the same recording that’s been there for 3 years, as if he’s sitting beside him in a studio. But it sounded like Rob’s voice-over was changed in the playoffs, so he’s a living being, I guess?

Tom Skilling introducing Josh’s wind and weather videos on Twitter would be amazing.

Off topic – but the internet continues to troll Sox fans:

I tell ya, no respect
First time in over 100 years of existence that the White Sox made it to the post season in back to back years. Pathetic, but an achievement.

Now I know online “journalism” is equally pathetic but look at the start of this article (https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb-team-roundup-chicago-white-162808848.html):

“What Went Right
Do you remember 2008? Of course you do. Folks formed lines to purchase the iPhone 3G. Kanye West’s 808’s and Heartbreak was released. That year was also the last time the White Sox made a postseason appearance.”

Seriously?

Eddie Rosario in the regular season: 98 wRC+, 0.9 fWar
Eddie Rosario in play-offs: 182 wRC+

Jorge Soler in the regular season: 100 wRC+, -0.2 fWar
Jorge Soler in the play-offs: 145 wRC+

At the end of the day, the Sox “core” guys didn’t come thru on both the pitching and hitting side. To keep advancing in the play-offs, you need your core guys and random guys (see above) to produce. We had neither, unless you count Leury’s 3 run homer.
