White Sox Minor Keys: May 4, 2019

Welp, whatever Alec Hansen is going to do next, he’s going to do next in Birmingham.

The White Sox promoted Hansen back to Double-A after a dominant stretch out of the Winston-Salem Dash bullpen. Hansen allowed just one hit while striking out 21 over 12⅔ innings, although walks weaseled their way back into the works over his last two outings (five over 2⅔ innings).

This would suggest that the White Sox are content to keep him in relief, what with it being easier to stretch out starters against weaker competition. Given the enormity of his struggles last season, that could be the right call, even if it’s slightly disappointing.

I can imagine the org is looking for a few warm bodies that can throw a ball

It looks like Ian Hamilton is ready for a spot in the Sox’ pen.
