White Sox Minor Keys: May 22, 2018
It took until May 22, but there’s finally been an Alec Hansen sighting during the minor league season.
Both FanGraphs’ Eric Longenhagen and Baseball America’s Bill Mitchell watched Hansen pitch in an extended spring training game this afternoon. Neither reported peak stuff …
Alec Hansen was 92-95 w/ high 70s curveball in 1-2-3 inning for #Whitesox extended spring team.

Alec Hansen is on a mound. 92-95 secondaries are rusty, slider (4) 85-87, change (4) 85, curve 80 (5). Filled the strike zone up, which is most important as far as I'm concerned. No Lou Bob today, sounds games like next week for him.

… but the point of extended spring training is to pitch against live opposition while the stuff catches up. Hopefully he can take the mound again on regular rest in short order.

Love is a Battenfield
That better be his wedding hashtag.
I’d like to submit for runner-up consideration a pregnancy announcement, drawn in the style of the interminable comic strip Homer Simpson says is about two naked eight-year-olds.
Worst Pat Benatar Video Ever.
There’s a best Pat Benatar video?
I was always partial to the You Better Run video.
2018 Chicago White Sox: You Better Run
More like You Better Bunt.
Nice to see Sheets finally break through. That looked like it was well over 400 feet.
He did it again.
Looks like Future Sox was pretty spot on with their writeup the other week.
Great couple days for Sheets. If the power continues to come back (which should be expected) and he can continue to be a solid hitter with a high OBP, we might have something there.
Sidenote – that’s quite the outfield wall
Do the Sox have an extended spring training roster posted anywhere? Asking for a friend.
