White Sox Minor Keys: June 16, 2019

While Charlotte will play on for another few weeks, the other three White Sox full-season affiliates closed out their first halves on Sunday, and only one of them can call it a success.

Birmingham: Finished 27-42, the worst record in the Southern League.

Winston-Salem: Finished second in the Carolina League Southern Division at 38-26, including 20 wins in their last 26 games.

Kannapolis: Finished 28-40, the second-worst record in the South Atlantic League.

While they’re off, the Arizona Rookie League will start its season Monday night. I’ll have an AZL White Sox season preview at some point after the roster is released.

My prediction: Collins will slash 250/350/450ish, catch twice a week, DH twice a week, give Abreu an occasional break at 1B, while offering Renteria the positional flexibility of a third catcher and people will still complain that he sucks.

I’ll predict .200/.300/.425

What’s up with Robert? Batting poorly for the last few games and out yesterday. All good?

Slump.

Smclean09

Hopefully just giving him an extended break since hes been struggling. This is the most hes played in 4 years

Jason Morgan got the start for Great Falls. 3 innings/ 3 hits / 3 strike outs. No runs.
Keeping an eye on this kid.

Should they even put Collins in the lineup against the Cubs?

Hamels & Lester are the probables and Collins’s stats against lefties this year ain’t great.

Right Size Wrong Shape

Especially with no DH, I doubt we’ll see him unless it’s as a PH.
