White Sox Minor Keys: June 15, 2019
Saturday was was not a fun one from the White Sox’ right-handed pitching depth.
Injured: Jimmy Lambert
Lambert, who hadn’t started since a third consecutive subpar outing on June 3, has been on the shelf with a strained right forearm. The White Sox said he’ll be reevaluated in the coming weeks.
Gone: Jordan Stephens
The White Sox tried to sneak him through waivers, but Cleveland ended up claiming him. Stephens plateaued as a starter in Charlotte during the second half of his 2018 season, then missed time early before coming back as a reliever. The performance hadn’t rebounded, but FanGraphs says his velocity is back, so we might not have seen the last of him.
What the hell: Alec Hansen
Hansen made his first start of the 2019 season Saturday night, and he probably shouldn’t have. See below.
Jacksonville 5, Birmingham 3
- Luis Robert and Nick Madrigal both were 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout.
- Luis Gonzalez and Gavin Sheets both were 1-for-4 with a K.

Luis Bob has also entered his first slump of the year?
Six of his first eight games at Birmingham were hitless.
Thanks!
Last 10 games, I believe his average is .158 with an OBP of .200, so yeah, he’s in a slump.
He hasn’t had a hit in the 4 games against Jacksonville so far in their current series.
Now that Madigral and Eloy are heating up and Giolito looks like an ace, La Pantera must slump per the laws of Finite White Sox Fan Happiness (see University of Chicago School of Medicine Journal, vol. 43 issue 3)
This is my fault, as soon as I start paying attention to a White Sox player in the minors he slumps.
I’ll go back to blissful ignorance.
