Dude I hope all this gets deleted but for the record a vag is tough…it’s a birth canal. Testicles are soft and delicate so maybe rethink your metaphors if you feel the weird need to be insulting.
In the 4th inning, the Sox used the method of letting Arraez get a single but then having Reese McGuire do some fancy shifting footwork to trick the next batter into grounding into an inning-ending double play. That is one possible methods for getting Arraez out and I’m sure there are others.
8 minutes ago you had no idea how to get Arraez out and now you move the goalposts by saying you didn’t just want a method but you wanted an easy method?!? Can’t help you there.
You could use the Reynaldo method and let him hit a scorcher to the opposite field and let your fast center fielder run it down on the track. Would have donged in Wrigley.
I definitely feel better after this performance. I think he ought to be the 5th starter after the ASG to give him as much rest as possible. I’m thinking Gio, Cease, Cueto, Lynn, Kopech,
He really does have great stuff. I don’t know why he tries to be so fine with it sometimes. Seems like the walks and long counts get him in more trouble than anything.
Well, I was upset he wasn’t in the starting lineup over Leury. Then, I was upset he had to come in (because it meant something was wrong with Robert). Big blast, Engel!
He looked completely done in Charlotte last year. I was completely baffled when they brought him up after the All-Star break. But he was good last year, and he’s been great this year. He’s throwing as hard as he did when he first came up with the Sox.
The Twins are honoring Jim Kaat before tomorrow’s game. Steve Stone is right about Kaat with the Sox working quicker than any other pitcher I’ve ever seen. I know many people have been annoyed at Kaat in the announcing booth in recent years (he’s a really old guy and it shows) but I want to point out how good Kaat was for the Sox. He arrived in mid-August 1973 and then produced 7.1 bWAR in 1974 at age 35 and 7.7 bWAR in 1975 at age 36. He was really good for the Sox.
Pretty good start.
Luis Robert is basically the worst defensive center fielder in baseball among qualified players.
I don’t understand what happened to him. It looks like his reaction time has slowed
He’s not seeing the ball. At least that’s what it feels like.
And it seems to happen in the daytime, at night, at home, and on the road.
Yeah, does’t make sense to me. A guy could see everything fine one yr and then stop. Seems like something the Sox need to examine futher.
He left the game because he was light headed? That could be a lot of things.
Does Anderson ever charge the ball and step into the throw?
I don’t think that one was really chargeable.
I disagree.
He had to take a few steps into the hole to field it, how can you charge that?
Kopech’s got a good fastball tonight, which he would have used it on the 2-2 pitch.
Robert has a strained vag
I’m having bad thoughts about you right now.
Dude I hope all this gets deleted but for the record a vag is tough…it’s a birth canal. Testicles are soft and delicate so maybe rethink your metaphors if you feel the weird need to be insulting.
I think the implication is that he is calling Robert a woman, which he thinks it’s an insult. Because he secretly fears them.
Reminds me of Ash vs Evil Dead. Pablo kills a demon, then says to Ash, “not so much of a vagina now, am I?”
To which Kelly replies “ Well, actually, vaginas are powerful and life-affirming. technically, you’re more of a vagina now than you’ve ever been.”
Had to see it to get the reference, but yeah, our team could really use vagina strength this year
Auto-rec for Ash vs. Evil Dead reference
Some more slug from TA would be a welcome sight. Good to see.
Heckuva battle there with Kopech and Gordon.
I honestly have no idea how one goes about getting Luis Arraez out.
In the 4th inning, the Sox used the method of letting Arraez get a single but then having Reese McGuire do some fancy shifting footwork to trick the next batter into grounding into an inning-ending double play. That is one possible methods for getting Arraez out and I’m sure there are others.
Sounds awfully labor intensive.

I guess someone could have told him that the game was in Detroit. I need to try thinking outside the box.

Kopech battled hard tonight, but I think he should be done after 4.
Well, he got through 5.
I certainly hope he’s done now. He threw 40 fastballs and averaged 95.5 mph with a top speed of 97.2 mph. Good to see.
I definitely feel better after this performance. I think he ought to be the 5th starter after the ASG to give him as much rest as possible. I’m thinking Gio, Cease, Cueto, Lynn, Kopech,
He took enough time between each pitch to throw 7 innings tonight. Painfully slow.
That snag by TA was spectacular
Kelly looked quite cromulent.
He really does have great stuff. I don’t know why he tries to be so fine with it sometimes. Seems like the walks and long counts get him in more trouble than anything.
That’s the Joe Kelly I want to see
I was in the middle of a comment about Adam Engel’s beard, but I think I’ll save it for another time.
Okay, I’ll make it: it’s patchy af. It’s all I could think of when he was at his first at bat.
–Fellow patchy beard guy
Adam Engel! Holy smokes!
Well, I was upset he wasn’t in the starting lineup over Leury. Then, I was upset he had to come in (because it meant something was wrong with Robert). Big blast, Engel!
If you had Engel in the home run pool then come collect your prize
A lot of negatives this year, but what a freaking treat it is to see this Rey-Lo growth. Amazing
He looked completely done in Charlotte last year. I was completely baffled when they brought him up after the All-Star break. But he was good last year, and he’s been great this year. He’s throwing as hard as he did when he first came up with the Sox.
You could always see that he had the potential to be dominant, which is what made him so maddening. That whole situation with his eyes was so bizarre.

Yeah, he was really good with the Sox. I’m old enough to remember how much I loved watching games when he pitched. I’m glad he made it to the Hall.
Blood in the water, boys. Keep it up.
Tomorrow’s the toughest match up of the series. A win there and it starts to get interesting.
Good that the Sox Machine contingent will be on hand to guarantee a victory.
