I’m not concerned yet about Wolkow’s K-rate. 40% as an 18-year old in A is higher than you like, but there are guys who strike out too much in A ball coming out of college. Wolkow has years to cut his rate down and he’s already been working on it. I think he’ll be fine. If he’s still striking out 30+% of the time when he’s 21 and still in the low minors, then it’s an issue. For now, it’s about working on his swing decisions and reading pitches, letting his power show itself naturally rather than selling out for it. I think he’ll continue to move up the top Sox prospects list.

Would love to know what the actual plan is from Getz and the sox. I have no idea how they are going about a Crochet trade because we have no idea if Montgomery is a SS, 2nd, 3rd basemen or possibly RF…. Is Ramos the heir apparent at 3rd… Is Vargas a MLB’er let alone what position does he play 3rd or 1st…are they bringing back underachievers vaughn and or sheets, what are the timelines of Querro, Smith, Schultz… whats the timeline of the next contending team????

They seem to be all over the map. At this point if it was up to me, I’d commit to our top prospects mostly all returning to the levels they finished at last year. And I would prioritize position player prospects that were in AA or AAA last year. Would slowly introduce guys who come out of the gate strong but wouldnt sacrifice service time in the hope of a ROY draft pick return. I’d also figure out immediately what position best suits some of these guys and stop bouncing them around. 1 guy 1 position. If mid to lower tier prospect types want to go the utility role (baldwin for example) ok, but top tier guys need to focus on being good at 1 spot.

Make Callis the GM if he can pull off those trades! Iโ€™ve been setting my sights way lower – hopefully Iโ€™ve been wrong
