Writing about the White Sox for a 16th season, first here, then at South Side Sox, and now here again. Let’s talk curling.
Now that TD has past I’m sure we’ll get some extra special effort from those the stayed
do we win more games then? or just singular efforts but it amounts to nothing? asking for a friend.
Or not…
I know Remillard isn’t exactly a prospect, but what is the point of giving Andrus playing time at this point?
To me, the only reasonable use of the 2B playing time is to take another look at Lenyn Sosa, who just isn’t challenged my minor league pitching any more.
Yep, Sosa should be up and starting at 2B the rest of the way. Remillard can be a utility guy who gets plenty of playing time. DFA Andrus.
I haven’t followed him closely, but he didn’t have a good July and missed part of June with injury. Maybe he is still working his way back
I still don’t see how he’s not the best use of the playing time.
He’s not. If he is on the roster tomorrow it’s roster malpractice.
“Roster malpractice” seems strong and frankly incorrect and of course you just shat on the idea without providing an alternative. What’s the more useful way to assign 2B playing time the rest of the season?
Maybe soxygen meant if Andrus is on the roster tomorrow it’s roster malpractice?
That would make more sense, but even then, still not sure I agree. If you call up Sosa to take Burger’s spot, who are we dying to call up to take Andrus’ spot? I guess they could use an actual outfielder on the bench, but would anybody be that excited about Frazier or Haseley returning?
The return of the patented three catcher roster?
No one can occupy a seat on the bench and watch Seby Zavala fail like Carlos Perez can occupy a seat on the bench and watch Seby Zavala fail.
we got Thompson back
I’d be equally as excited about him as I would Frazier or Haseley.
but what was the point of bringing him back if he’s not a call-up? just to say, screw you, we don’t want you to succeed with another club because we clearly failed you?
What’s the point of anything the White Sox do, really? Wasn’t the general reaction to his inclusion in that trade, “what the hell?”
then the question needs to be said louder. WHAT THE HELL
Hitting over .130?
So Sosa never gets another look because his 70 whole plate appearances earlier this season didn’t go great? We’d rather look at the old shortstop or the guy with the utility-player ceiling?
I said nothing of the sort, you ask a question and I gave you a pretty low bar response. Too bad you tripped over it.
I think you’re far overestimating the quality of your response.
Just to be clear, is the antecedent of the pronoun “he” in your comment Lenyn Sosa? That fits with the pronoun usage in the surrounding comments.
Was thinking exactly the same only thing is the Ranger ties maybe doing it for him
Because the Sox are cowards, and Elvis is a well liked veteran. It is malpractice indeed, I’m just pointing out the reason why it’s happening
if you do a quick glance, this guy looks like Giolito.
I vote for all the games for the rest of the season being as fast as that one was.
