For all the Offseason Plan Project architects that wanted Kolten Wong on the White Sox, might his brother suffice?

The White Sox acquired Kean Wong from the Seattle Mariners according to Tacoma Rainiers broadcaster Mike Curto on Thursday. Wong hit .315/.422/.500 with 16 walks to 19 strikeouts over 33 games at Triple-A this season.

The 28-year-old has played 925 games in the minors, including 541 games at Triple-A, without a call-up to the majors. For comparison, Zach Remillard just received a promotion to Chicago after 694 games in the minors, and it seems like he’s been around forever.

Kolten Wong is hitting .153/.246/.178 over 41 games for Seattle’s big-league club, so the younger Wong might be the right way to go here.

Wong’s PCL numbers look nice. But–as with A.J. Alexy–when a recent prospect is moved on from by multiple teams, and the White Sox are the team that is stuck with him, I have a good bit of skepticism that their scouting was anything beyond typing his name into Fangraphs.

Still, a worthy flier for a team that needs more than fliers at 2B.
