White Sox Minor Keys: June 14, 2023

Durham Bulls Athletic Park (Jim Margalus / Sox Machine)

The White Sox transactions page shows that Billy Hamilton was outrighted off the 40-man roster after four games of his rehab stint with Charlotte (h/t MLB Trade Rumors), and it doesn’t make much sense for him to stick around. The remainder of his big-league future seems like it’ll be as a pinch-runner for a team that could really use 90 feet in high-leverage situations, but has the kind of outfield arrangement that would never require him to play otherwise.

Cannon is hit or miss.

Sounds like Remilliard is coming up… wonder if that means Moncada to DL or are they just going with an extra bat and DL’ing Clevinger

Or it could be TA to the IL, or Benintendi. So many guys playing hurt to consider!

That Mena start is encouraging after some duds.

Anyone added to the 40 man roster to replace Hamilton? and who is the catcher they bought from Toronto?

Right Size Wrong Shape

According to knoxfire30 it will be Remillard.

I’m happy for Remillard. Once he plays at all, he’s a guy who made it to the major leagues for the rest of his life.

Also, Jim will be happy to see a guy from the Tri-Cities make it.

Any news on Montgomery? Sorry if somebody posted somewhere and I missed. Latest I saw was posted on May 29 (rotowire), that he was starting an extended spring training. Good lord, can their top prospect get healthy enough to play some games in 2023 at least?
