Yeah, I wish he described that a little more. He said they put 4 screens around the pitcher’s mound, so maybe the goal was not to hit the screens, as in, hit the ball over them?

Should be noted this umpire is also dealing. They says he’s the best there is and they weren’t lying. So many borderline calls on the tv zone and he’s been on every one.
Hoberg is good, although any umpire will quibble with a TV “zone”, regardless of how it reflects on them. It’s not a zone it’s a 2D tool. A useful tool no doubt tho. But it’s got its limitations. Bottom line is the overall performance of umpires is extremely underwhelming
I heard Nico Hoerner on the Score speaking to that – he said that the TV zone is usually pretty accurate on the corners, but way off on the top and bottom of the zone.

Rick already took the blame for these bums, so you’d think he’d take the bullet… but the Sox operate outside the confines of logic.
I don’t see the point of firing Pedro, even if he does suck. I think he’s paint by numbers filler, but it’s a small sample in a bad organization.
But I don’t see any firing inspiring bums to unbumlike production.

TA7 not doing great in key situations lately
You pretty much got it. The only slight change is the out at 2nd wasn’t meaningless. There was 1 out so a double play gets them out of the inning. But it was a slow enough chopper that there was never a chance. Take your medicine and get 1 type of play. Stop the bleeding.
Funny…auto correct tried to change my last sentence there to “stop the leading”. Maybe it just knows the sox
Thx. I meant “meaningless” as in you’re not going to get a DP regardless, so opt for one instead of a large % chance of getting none. Syntax was poor by me
