Why is Robert still leading off? 3 pitch at bat, 2 swing and misses at slurves well out of the zone… might lose 100 games

a-t

Clevinger’s velo is def back to where it was at his Cleveland peak

As Cirensica

3 hits tonight again?

Under or over?

As Cirensica

We have 1

Foulkelore

This is sadly still true, almost an hour after you posted it.

As Cirensica

Ugh

But I ain’t worried. We have Romy in the lineup.

BillyKochFanClub

The Sox will need to score at least 4 in their scoring inning tonight. That’s probably not happening.

upnorthsox

Only 2 swinging strikes on 32 FB. If that doesn’t change they ‘re going to pound him.

a-t

Romy was clearly out idk what that call was lol

As Cirensica

Umpires still don’t know Romy is out by default

a-t

He’s an unethical experiment seeking to answer the question: just how low can a rostered guy’s hit tool be?

As Cirensica

Yesterday I tuned out in the 7th. I have a feeling I won’t make it thru the 5th tonight

As Cirensica

Welp…I was very optimistic. Didn’t make it to the 5th. This team is lifeless. Boring. It’s too early to be this apathetic. It’s gonna be a long season.

Hat tip to Hahn. Nobody can assemble a team this bad for close to 200 million. That’s hard to do.

As Cirensica

Wow…a routine single, Vladdy turns it into a double. And easy. This team is almost a comical clown act.

Rambler303

Trade all except cease, crochet, Vaughn, those are the only ones worth keeping. Maybe Timmy if he isn’t asking for the moon.

As Cirensica

I would entertain trading Vaughn.

Rambler303

Is only say no to Vaughn because he is young but if the return was great I could see it.

Depressing these are our conversations during the “peak” of the rebuild. You suck Hahn.

ChiTownMax25

Crochet? The reliever coming off surgery who’s beginning arb next year? If he comes back and has a nice 2 month stretch you need to sell high.

a-t

everytime i watch clevinger wiggle outta a jam i have the same thought… there really is a patron god of sickos & freaks

As Cirensica

I wonder when will Grifol lose the clubhouse?

md03

Spring training

upnorthsox

I was wondering when/if he’ll win the clubhouse. Maybe the question is, if this season continues tracking 1986, will Grifol last longer than TLRs 64 games that year.

steelydan52

I’m not blaming Grifol at this point but I gotta believe he signed a 4 year deal and even if it was 3 years, JR will not get rid of him until possibly the last year.
I would like to see how he would manage a pretty good team but that won’t happen until the Sox are owned by someone else.

BillyKochFanClub

This is just overkill at this point. They probably only needed 1 or 2 runs to take this one. Bad form, Blue Jays!

upnorthsox

6 out of 7 hits on FB, the 7th was a hanging slider for a 3-run HR. I think Jim’s got this pegged pretty good.

BillyKochFanClub

Is it allowed for Pedro to walk out and hold up three fingers like an intentional walk when Romy or Robert come up, to save everyone’s time?

FishSox

I laughed hard…

StockroomSnail

“And now, batting designated out, Romy Gonzalez”

roke1960

I honestly don’t know how you guys watch this embarrassment of a franchise night after night. I turn in Gameday, and even on that I usually last 3 innings or less. It is just incredible how bad they are in every aspect of the game. And this in a year that was supposed to be the culmination of the rebuild. Good job Rick. This may be the worst GM performance in baseball history.

steelydan52

Once I see the score I just come in here to join the group session. Like therapy.

roke1960

That’s pretty much what I do now. I can’t believe I have no interest in watching them. I’ve watched plenty of bad, bad White Sox teams through the years. I think what makes this different is the absolute arrogance, cluelessness, stupidity, etc… of the front office- namely Jerry, Kenny and Rick. They make me almost want to root against them. I honestly don’t know how this situation can continue.

Foulkelore

Show me on the doll where Jerry hurt you (points to heart).

upnorthsox

I just put I will Survive by Cake on loop and I’m thru 6, easy. Speaking of, I had to verify that he is actually singing the same lyrics as Gloria Gaynor , I have a new respect for the original. He does it with such a sarcastic deadpan tone its brilliant.

#3 for HOF

I haven’t seen a single inning since the 9th inning of game one in Tampa. I didn’t even finish that as I turned away once the solo shot was hit and I was pretty confident they were going to lose.

I have have never given up watching the Sox in all of their down years, but I think that is about to change. I have been much more at peace these past 5 days not investing any time to watching this sh*t show. I will still come onto SoxMachine to stay current on the team, but other than that I think I may be done until Jerry kicks it.

steelydan52

I watched Money Ball the other night and I think JR should hire Brad Pitt for GM.

Foulkelore

Maybe they need a team movie night. They can learn that walks are good. Wait! They’re only good for hitters, for hitters, Diekman!

Foulkelore

I’ve never seen more players missing or fouling off pitches that are heading towards them, way inside. Is this one of the new concepts they are still learning?

Foulkelore

On the Romy scale, him beating out the 2nd out of a double play is like a triple.

a-t

I think I’m gonna give up on this franchise and go be a M’s fan until Reinsdorf’s dead and the team is sold

Foulkelore

The Sox need the old Bull Durham rainout for tomorrow, even though it’s a dome.

BillyKochFanClub

Benetti and Beckham praising Banks for saving the bullpen.

Oh boy! Fresh Diekman, Bummer, and Kelly for tomorrow! We’ve got them now!

Root Cause

My name is RC, and I am a soxaholic. I have avoided watching this trainwreck for ‘0’ days. I am powerless to stop watching them fail night after night. I continue to lurk on this site looking for support instead, finding others with little hope. Already failing steps 1 and 2, I have no faith in the baseball god, or he would have smitten the FO with lightning

steelydan52

That’s pretty deep!

roke1960

I thought I was a soxaholic too, but just thinking about the damage that the 3 stooges have done to this franchise is better than going to AA meetings.

upnorthsox

Oh well, maybe next series..errr..the series after the next series…errr….well ok then in Cincinnati for sure right? Right?

StockroomSnail

They’ll win the meet up series so we can blame the Sox machiners and 108ers.

steelydan52

Hell, I have to believe that even Hahn’s own family is doubting his ability as GM.

upnorthsox

As bad as it is, it could be worse, Pollock could’ve done what everyone thought he’d do and pick up his option. Then we’d have 2 Romy’s and no Benny’s.

asinwreck

Benintendi is under contract until 2027.

upnorthsox

The thought was that with Pollock already on the payroll for $12 mil they wouldn’t have signed Benintendi.

asinwreck

Yes, and they’d only be stuck with Pollock for this year. If this is the kind of production Benintendi’s giving in year one of a five-year contract, he has the chance to rival Jaime Navarro as regrettable Sox free agent signings.

BillyKochFanClub

Yeah, I think Benintendi doesn’t sign if Pollock opts in. Looking at Benintendi’s statcast data, I wish Pollock had opted in.
